Lt. L. Craig Beachell 1968 was my brother. He was a Ranger with the Americal and
died after Vietnam from what we believe were the wounds he received. He suffered
greatly after be shot in his last battle. He had three Purple hearts and a
Bronze Star. His last wound was a severe head wound. He was forced out of the
Army after almost two years in the military hospital. After Graduating college
he went back into the service by way of the national guard recieving the rank of
Lt. Col. Anyway some year later after two months in Walter Reed Army hospital
they decided he had Alzheimers of which he died. One of our intentions is to put
Craig on the wall in DC. He died from alzheimers. We believe his Azheimers was
caused from the from the injury suffered in the war and although he lived some
years after he suffered greatly for his country and deserves every honor for the
soldier he was and his service to country. My brother;s and I are looking for
anyone who new craig in the service or served with him. He was a line officer
and althought most of his company was near wiped out we are looking for those
who might aid our attempt.

My husband, David Wright, was a medic in company B, 1st of the 20th. I have
found a few pictures of him on your web site. In gallery 1 in the Sgt. McNeary
squad photo, David Wright is the Medic on the far right. In gallery 3, second
grouping, same picture, the 5th row down he is in the left pic standing on the
far left. In the 6th row, right pic, David is with "Boom Boom" the dog and a

A correction needs to be made for 5-20's history, pertaining to it's assignment

I joined A/1st/20th Nov. 1970. I was with 4th div. at An Khe. On Mar. 11, 1971 I
was wounded along with Sargent Richard Blue while on morning patrol to pick up a
mechanical ambush. I was sent to 91st. Evac and than on to Camp Zama. From there
I went to Fort Riley. I have been trying to get in touch with Sargent Blue ever
since and always come to a dead end. If anyone out there can help me I would
appreciate it. Also, does anyone have any photos of FB Liz? I appreciate to the
people responsible for this website. Do you have a page or are you going to be

We were the vhf team assigned to the 1/20(fly-swatter antenna). You went north
to Quan-ngai then west toward the mountains. A red-headed 2nd lt was killed by a
booby trap in March 68. We went North to LZ Ross, then west next to Laos. We
were able to connect to MARS & some of the men would call home. We were up there
till 6/68 then went to LZ Thunder. I remember Doc Colby. We were the 11th Sig
Plt & McCamish, Lemke & myself were assigned to the 1/20 for commo purposes. It
is an honor to have served with Sykes Regulars.

Served in 67-68 as Arty Liaison Officer to the 1-20 in Hawaii and Viet Nam. Went
over with the original group on the "Gordon", camped at Carentan, and went to LZ
Thunder with HQ. Flew with LTC Beers on the CC chopper and coordinated all fire
missions by C 6-11 Artillery and other supporting units.
