Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0050hrs TMF at 0024 S-61B, sighted stationary target, metal was confirmed and engaged at 0040hrs 16 HE 105 Artillery. At 0215hrs 1-20 Infantry Seals have landed. At 0440hrs 1-20 Infantry request Area of Operations extension B25 Date/Time/Grid 090600hrs to 100600hrs. BS640550 to BS680580 to BS640510 to BS680520 has been approved by WO MHAN. At 0600hrs AMC is on station for Battalion Combat Assault of Alpha Company and Delta Company. At 0640hrs 1-20 Infantry 13 ships on station for Combat Assaults. At 0720hrs 1-20 Infantry 1st PZ Alpha Company 0700hrs LZ at 0705hrs cold, 2nd PZ Alpha Company 0710hrs LZ 0715hrs cold and 3rd PZ Delta Company 0723hrs LZ 0730hrs cold Combat Assault completed. At 0815hrs 1-20 Infantry extraction of Vietnamese Marine Seal 5AB team completed at 0803hrs. At 1120hrs LZ Liz request Area of Operation extension for B 25 to be changed to Date/Time/Grid 101800hrs approved. At 1225hrs 1-20 Infantry Area of Operation extension B 97 only above the 48 Grid 4-3 Infantry would not let us have below the 48, passed on to Charlie Company. At 1500hrs Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, Delta, Companies and Recon Weather Warning, 1400hrs-2000hrs, thunderstorms, ceiling of 1000hrs, broken clouds, ceiling of 2,000’ to 2,500’, will be overcast, Visibility 1 mile, winds variable 15-33 knots. At 1606hrs 1-20 Infantry TOC requests extension to B-25 same time frame with grids change to BS6451 to BS641501, northeast along road to BS680518, to BS6852. Purpose for Alpha Company to operate in tonight and move in tomorrow, Approved by CPT Can. At 1935hrs 1-20 Infantry all Combat Assaults have been disapproved for 101300hrs, may change tomorrow morning. At 2220hrs Brigade asked for LRRP Box upper right BS6750, lower right BS7246, disapproved by Colonel Lynch. Legend: 1st Platoon 53-58, 2nd 23-28, 3rd Platoon 83-88, 4th Platoon 63-68 and CO 31.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company

At 0925hrs Alpha Company 53 element is halfway through sweep with negative results found 2 small tunnels with negative finding. At 1212hrs Alpha Company all elements closed on LZ at BS653523.
Bravo Company
September 9, 1970
Bravo Company continued their multiple patrolling in their Area of Operation. At 1640hrs Bravo Company the 53 element Night Defense Position at BS716635.
Charlie Company
September 9, 1970
At 0816hrs Charlie Company the 23 element is moving out to BS587474 and the 54 element moving out for BS592473. At 1955hrs Charlie Company received 5 - 6 rounds of sniper fire from BS597492, returned fire with M-79, with negative finding. At 2040hrs Charlie Company 55 is moving out for BS599488 and 25 is moving to BS593488.
Delta Company
September 9, 1970
At 0723hrs Delta Company 1st LZ and 2nd LZ were cold. At 0930 Delta Company reports conduct a Combat Assault is now completed.
Echo Company
September 9, 1970
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the coordination responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for the 1-20 Infantry and LZ Liz.
