Headquarters and Headquarter Company

Battalion Forward: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and continued their working with the ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0820hrs 1-20 Infantry Battalion requested a set of scout dogs at 1500hrs at Bud Pad. Bravo Company conducted a Combat Assault PZ 1100hrs and LZ 1109hrs. At 2055hrs 1-20 Infantry LZ Liz report bunker 49 & 31 elements spotted light at BS762427 engaged with 81mm HE 4 rounds on target and 3rd round have a secondary explosion.
Battalion Rear: Battalion Rear continued their Mission for providing general support for the Battalion.
Alpha Company
November 9, 1969
Alpha Company continued their Security Mission for Land Clearing Operation. Alpha Company is at BS813482 and will continue working with joint operations with the ARVN and continued to use multiple patrolling and Day and Night ambushes in their Area of Operation. At 1531hrs Alpha Company at BS829413 acting as a Security Force for the PRU when the Chieu Hoi lead them to a tunnel they blew the tunnel results in on VC KIA found some documents and evac Chieu Hoi to MACV. At 1606hrs at BS825455, detained 2 females VCS, no ID, National Police say she is VC, she also had 4,300 Vietnamese dollars on her and will evac to 1-20 Infantry TOC. At 1710hrs Alpha Company PRU Urgent Dust Off requested and completed at 1730hrs for 2 VCS 1 male 30-35 and 1 female 20-25. They were in one of 5 Bunkers in the area. PRU threw hand frag in one bunker, also 4 male VCS and another VCS came out of the bunker. 1 SKS was CIA SN 3915, and 1 US M-1 Rifle SN598645 CIA total sent to MACV 5 VCS and 2 weapons. AT 1955hrs Alpha Company reports their Night Defense Position at BS825455.
Bravo Company
November 9, 1969
Bravo Company at 0810hrs is located at BS783433 their Day Logger. Bravo Company conducted a Combat Assault 1st PZ 1100hrs and LZ completed at 1024hrs and then a Conducts a Combat Assault 1st PZ at1100hrs and LZ at 1109hrs. At 1315hrs Bravo Company at BS791449, the secret bunker that was found near by contained 1 VC flag and some documents will be evaded to LZ Bronco this PM. At 1530hrs Bravo Company at BS800441, detained 1 VCS negative ID was hiding in bushes when on sweep and the ARVN say he is VC. At 1530hrs Bravo Company at BS800451 one VCS evaded engaged with small arms fire results one VCS WIA, 25-30, no ID and no weapon, Dust Off completed at 1414hrs. At 1825hrs Bravo Company snake 54 element reported it was in location at 1835hrs when trip flare went off vicinity of grid BS785437, blew their claymores and checked the area with negative results. They were moving 100 to 200 meters to a new and friendly bunker noticed movement to the front and engaged with small arms fire results 1 US WIA Dust Off was completed at 2020hrs. He had torn muscles near armpit and will be sent to Chu Lai. At 1955hrs Bravo Company reports their Night Defense Position at BS783433.
Charlie Company
November 9, 1969
Charlie Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz. At 1015hrs at BS760435, requests Dust Off for one Vietnamese female, 20, with frag wounds in the head, neck, and the legs from Artillery and Dust Off Completed at 1023hrs. At 2055hrs report from Charlie Company location at LZ Liz, and 31 spotted light at BS762427 engaged with 81mm HE shot 4 rounds and on the 3 round there was a secondary explosion.
Delta Company

At 1000hrs Delta Company at BS705450 and by 1200hrs Delta is at BS722450 and they conduct a Combat Assault 1st PZ at1415hrs and LZ at 1435hrs. At 1655hrs Delta Company is at BS778445. At 1955hrs Delta Company reports their Night Defense Position at BS778453. At 2340 Delta Company at BS806417 received Mortar rounds 60mm mortar rounds 3 US WHA (E) Dust Off completed at 2355hrs Enemy grid vicinity BS798428 engaged with artillery and 81mm with unknown results gun ships were on station.
Echo Company
November 9, 1969
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon again is working out of BS783433. At 1200hrs Bravo Company joined Recon Platoon at BS783433. At 1955hrs Recon Platoon Night Defense Position is located at BS778427.
