Bravo Company has the Security Mission for LZ Liz and today 1 Platoon will conduct saturation patrolling in vicinity BS7741 also in the vicinity BS7438, BS7538, BS7840. At Bravo and Charlie 4-21 Infantry, Bravo 3-1 Infantry, Delta 1-20 Infantry and E Troop 1-1 Calvary has continue to maintain light to heavy contact with unknown size NVA Force along with Gun ships, Artillery and Air Strike Support. Bravo Company Platoon returns to LZ Liz. Delta Company established their Night Defense Position vicinity BS775406, today continued saturation patrolling vicinity our Night Defense Position, in vicinity BS7438, BS7740, BS7840. At 0235hrs Delta Company 1-20 Infantry at BS774408 observed 3 VC to the east moving south engaged with M-79 and received return fire, hand grenades, small arms fire and RPG fire from 2 Directions. 1 APC was hit by RPG. At 0335hrs at BS769408 Gun Ships engaged VC in open with unknown results reports 4 WIA (E) from Bravo Company 3-1 Infantry, 1 WIA (E) from Delta Company 1-20 infantry, 4 WHA (E) from E Troop 1 Cav competed at 0730hrs. At 0845hrs Charlie Company 4-21 Infantry at BS748396 detained 8 females and 1 male evac to LZ Bronco. At 0920hrs E Troop 1 Cav at BS762412 observed 15 NVA with weapons and wearing green uniforms and engaged with 50 Caliber fire and called Gun Ships and enemy broke contact at 1045hrs. At 0940hrs vicinity BS780407 Delta Company 1-20 Infantry captured 1 NVA Wounded by Artillery frag with 1 AK-47. At 0940hrs Delta Company 1-20 Infantry at BS780407 found 1 NVA WIA CIA and Dust Off to LZ Bronco completed at 1000hrs. Bravo and Charlie Companies 4-21 Infantry, Bravo Company 3-1 Infantry, Bravo Company Platoon and Delta Company 1-20 Infantry, Bravo Company 3-1 Infantry and E Troop 1-1 Calvary continue to maintain light to heavy contact with unknown size NVA Force with Gun Ships, Artillery, and Air Strike Support. At 1215hrs Delta Company 1-20 Infantry at BS774416 found 2 AK-47. At 1215hrs Charlie Company 4-21 Infantry At 1215hrs Charlie Company 4-21 Infantry vicinity BS745384 received 2 60mm mortar, small arms fire and automatic weapons fire1 US WHA Dust Off to LZ Bronco. At 1215hrs Bravo Company 3-1 Infantry at BS77416 found 1 NVA KBA so results 1 NVA KIA. . Delta Company returned to LZ Bronco for Security Mission. At 1345hrs Charlie Company 4-21 Infantry at BS743389 found 7 NVA KIA by small arms fire and hand grenades with green uniforms (less than 24 hours old) 1 RPG launcher. At 1415hrs Charlie Company 4-21 Infantry at BS745389 engaged and KIA 1 NVA. At 1615hrs Bravo Company 4-21 Infantry at 750385 received sniper fire with results 1 US WHA (E) Dust Off completed at 1630hrs LZ Bronco at 1645hrs engaged 1 male evading with results 1 female detained evac to LZ Bronco. At 1735hrs Bravo Company 4-21 at BS750385 killed 2 NVA in tunnel with hand grenades. At 1800hrs E Troop 1 Cav at BS749384 engaged 1 NVA results 1 NVA in green uniform. At 1845hrs E Troop 1 Cav at BS750385 engaged and KIA 1 NVA wearing gray uniform. At 2240hrs 11th Brigade the 174 Aviation gun ships reports at 1045hrs spotted 2 NVA with 2 NVA KIA. Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for LZ Liz Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for the 1-20 Infantry.
