Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0030hrs MACV Duc Pho at 2300hrs 8 June PF 182 ambush 1 VC vicinity BS834349, results 1 VC KIA, CIA medical and other supplies, not US Confirmed. At 0110rhs Saber 46 is on station to work radar sighting and broke station at 0135hrs. At 0200hrs Alpha Company LT Kress checked bunkers 4, 5 and 6 all satisfactory. At 0648hrs 1-20 Infantry Warlord 21 is on station for Air Calvary Box 51. At 0800hrs LZ Liz Access Road is now clear. At 1320hrs 1-20 Infantry Warlord 9 went to Air Calvary Box 53. At 1500hrs Primo 2 is on station at this time. At 1555rhs TO: 1-20 Infantry From Nui Vong: General Baldwin visited Nui Vong at 1555hrs and was very interested in the tracks on Nui Vong and the type of targets that they area able to engage, also was interested in the IOS and what type sightings it has been having General left at 1603hrs and headed north. At 1628hrs TO Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, Delta and Echo Companies From Commanding Officer 1-20 Infantry: Department of the Army Team to be at LZ Bronco 10 June 1971, each unit consolidate pertinent questions and send 1 Officer representative preferably Company Executive Officer, time of conference at LZ Bronco TBA today. At 1629hrs Charlie Company 2nd Platoon requested permission to enter a Ville at grid BS742425 with assistance of National Police. At 1900hrs TO Nui Vong From 1-20 Infantry S-3 Provide 10 man security element to go to Snoopy to act as security for Dossier to go to your location. Arrive Snoopy NLT 0800hrs escort, ETA back to Nui Vong 0900hrs, Combat Assault of Delta Company 1030hrs. At 1908hrs TO Brigade FROM 1-20 Infantry S-3: request 1 Company from out Battalion for Colonel Goodwin to visit tomorrow, need location, call sign, frequency and time the Company will b in a position to accept the Colonel. At 2030hrs 1-20 Infantry Mechanical Ambushes out: Bravo 6, Charlie 6, Delta 3 and Recon 1 for a total of 16 out. At 2049hrs MACV Mo Duc, requested 1 Urgent Dust Off for 1 PSDF who stepped on a mine at Nui Ong Do vicinity BS765530 and had traumatic amputation of left foot. LA will be Mo Duc, Negative Vietnamese Air Force TU Bird # 54 completed at 2110hrs. At 2145hrs Alpha Company LT Tokens inspected bunkers # 2, 3, 4 and 5. #2 negative password, #3 no guard, # 4 satisfactory and # 5 negative password. At 2225hrs Alpha Company LT Craft checked bunkers 4, 5, 6 and all were satisfactory. At 2235hrs SFC Gibson inspected bunkers 15, 16 and 17 and all were satisfactory. Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco. At 2330hrs last night Headquarters and Headquarter Company 11 Brigade reports at BS815386 a brush fire was started at Montezuma when a guard saw a flare come from the hill down onto the brush. All were notify of it and the fire seemed to die out about 2400hrs. At 0300hrs the fire started up again: all fire trucks were dispatch with the result: Some Commo wire burned out between the TOC and the Top of the hill where they have Base Defense , Mars radio and VHF relay. UPDATE at 0535hrs fire still questing up some what when wind picks up. All under control no damage to building or equipment and Commo has be repaired.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company will continue their Security Mission for LZ Liz. 0200hrs LT Kress checked bunkers and at 2145hrs LT Craft checked bunkers all satisfactory and 2235hrs SFC Gibson inspected Bunkers
Bravo Company
June 9, 1971
Bravo Company continued to use Patrol Bases and multiple patrolling in there Area of Operation. At 0705hrs Bravo Company 1st Platoon Patrol is moving to BS715496. At 0728hrs Bravo Company request priority Dust Off for 1 Kit Carson Scout who hit a booby trap (toe popper type) Thoan, Troug # 417 completed at 0725hrs. At 0834hrs Bravo Company 3rd Platoon Patrol is moving to BS713460. At 1023hrs Bravo Company 3rd Platoon Patrol has closed on BS716465. At 2029hrs Bravo Company all elements are in Night Defense Position locations Command Post with 3rd Platoon is at BS717463, 1st and 4th Platoon is at BS708492 and 2nd Platoon is at BS697457 with 6 Mechanical Ambushes out. At 2050hrs Bravo Company 1st Platoon patrol set fire to Night Defense Position at 1815hrs because area looked booby trap as patrol was returning to Patrol Base they heard an explosion that sounded like a 60mm mortar rounds, vicinity BS708492.
Charlie Company

Charlie Company continued to use Patrol Bases and multiple patrolling in their Area of Operation. At 0635hrs Charlie Company 2nd Platoon had a Mechanical Ambush detonate vicinity BS729402 swept the area resulting in 1 male VC KIA 30, wearing US fatigue shirt and green pants. CIA 1 rucksack (US waterproof bag) containing 3 bags commercials rice, 4 chicken eggs, tobacco candy, extra suit of blue clothing, 1 bush hat, 1 cigarette lighter, nail clipper, 1 Seiko watch, 1 pack cigarettes, 1 wallet, notebook, vitamins, pair scissors, mirror, pen and 1 US canteen requested tracker team. Also had 1 personnel (wearing all black) with pack and weapon evade to northeast. At 1629hrs Charlie Company 2nd Platoon requested permission to enter a Ville at grid BS742425 with assistance of National Police. The patrol while sweeping Ville spotted 1 Vietnamese male age 30, wearing blue pants and shirt with straw hat, trying to hide something in the hooch. The National Police apprehended the detainee and thought he was with holding information, brought the detainee back to LZ Liz at 1607hrs for further questioning, the detainee has ID. At 2018hrs Charlie Company all elements in Night Defense Position Command Post and 3rd Platoon at BS722425, 2nd Platoon at BS725402, 1st Platoon at BS706448 with 6 Mechanical Ambush out. At 2044hrs Charlie Company 2nd Platoon patrol set fire to their vicinity at BS725402, a short time later heard a booby trap detonate, unknown type booby trap. At 2018hrs Charlie Company Command Post element found a bear trap 50 meters east of present Night Defense Position at BS721425. Bear trap has a trip wire attached and leads into a bush will check it out at first light.
Delta Company

Delta Company continued using Patrol Bases and multiple patrolling in their Area of Operation. At 0755hrs Delta Company 1st and 4th Platoon is in Patrol Base vicinity BS643564 at this time. At 1555hrs Nui Vong General Baldwin visited Nui Vong at 1555hrs and was very interested in the tracks on NV and the type of targets that they area able to engage. Also was interested in the IOS and what type sighting it has been having. General Leave at 1603hrs left Nui Vong and headed North. At 1900hrs TO Nui Vong From 1-20 Infantry S-3 Provide 10 man security element to go to Snoopy to act as security for Dossier to go to your location. Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for 1-20 Infantry. At 0611hrs Recon Platoon is moving to Patrol Base at this time at BS768402 and at 0720hrs closed on their location. At 1938hrs Recon is moving to Night Defense Position at BS769412.
