Headquarters and Headquarter Company

Forward Area 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Ross for Operation WHEELER-WALLOWA and are OPCON to the 196th Light Infantry Brigade.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco. At 0940hrs Bravo Company 19 Engineer and Charlie Company 39 Engineer reports road is open from LZ Bronco to Chu Lai. At 1000hrs Delta Company 19 Engineer reports Road is open from LZ Bronco to Bong Song. At 1500hrs Charlie Company 39 Engineer vicinity BS724465 reports 2 ½ ton truck forced off road by ¼ Ton jeep, truck over turned 1 US Evac and no damage to truck, removed truck from road.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company continued to conduct the Security Mission for LZ Ryder with OP. Alpha Company will have security sweeps north and south of the LZ.
Bravo Company
June 9, 1968
Bravo Company and Charlie Company 3-21 Infantry still OPCON to 3-21 Infantry will sweep east to vicinity BT051314. 1LT Robert L. Hauck assumed Command of Bravo Company and LT Harold C. Maxson going to Headquarters Company then going on Emergency Leave.
Charlie Company
June 9. 1968
Charlie Company started the day with saturation Day Ambushes in their Area of Operation and at 0642hrs Charlie Company reports they have 3 ambushes set up at BT079311, BT055314 and BT043313. At 1238hrs Charlie Company observed movement at BT055308 and received automatic weapons fire and 1 M-79 round engaged with artillery and results no casualties or damage. At 1508hrs observed and engaged 1 VC with the results being 1 VC KIA. Charlie Company reports their Night Defense Position at BT054298. At 1739hrs Charlie Company reports Command and Control Helicopter received heavy automatic weapons fire and ship took hits, air craft landed to check damage, still flyable, firing artillery on location.
Delta Company

Delta Company has the Security Mission for LZ Ross and has security for Road sweep of the 535 roadway along with just security for highway 535.
Echo Company
June 9, 1968
Echo Company is located at LZ Ross where Battalion Forward, is located and coordinates with the Battalion Rear Elements and the Base Defense on LZ Ross. The 4.2 Platoon is located on LZ Ross where they continue to provide direct fire support for the Battalion. 1-20 Infantry Recon Platoon reports have manned and maintain OP at BT000315.
