Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 1330hrs 1-20 Infantry Helix at BS769523 observed 8 people carrying baskets heading north to south putting contents into bunker at BS771512. At 1330hrs Charlie Company 3-1 OPCON to 1-20 Infantry at BS768386 received heavy sniper fire form his #156 SRRP observed 4 VC with weapons in area dress in black, request Dust Off have one man shot in neck. Charlie Company reports 3-1 Infantry SRRP Cat is at BS775395. At 1655hrs Charlie Company 3-1 Infantry at BS782384 received sniper fire from village believe 7 to 8 automatic weapons, moving out and calling artillery and also helix is going to put in Air Strike if possible.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco. SGT Harold D. Anderson was evac to the 312th Evac Hospital sick at 0850hrs.
Alpha Company
February 9, 1969
Alpha Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Dragon. At 0805hrs Alpha Company detained 2 VCS and evac to LZ Dragon. At 0930hrs Alpha Company at BS752532 hit by 81mm command detonated booby trap, just western end of bridge located at BS750532 and detonated from the eastern end of bridge. Alpha Company received sniper fire just before they hit booby trap, Dust Off completed at 0936hrs for 4 US and 2 urgent and taken to Chu Lai, Dust Off for 5th US was completed at 1020hrs. At 0945hrs Alpha Company detained 41 detained 2 VC suspects who where evading the area and evac to LZ Dragon. 1-20 Infantry report SRRP locations CAT BS675395, A at BS699512, C BS865294 and D at BS909225. At 1905hrs Alpha Company reports their locations 54 at BS722526, 55 at BS724515 and 44 at BS736477. SP4 RICHARD ALAN PATON LISTED AS KHA. Bravo Company

Bravo Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz with Bravo Company 23 on Bridge 124. At 1525hrs Bravo Company at BS735457 detained 2 VC suspects evading. At 2100hrs Bravo Company at BS766455 VC with loud speaker said he had machinegun pointed at the Bunker line on LZ Liz, fired mortars with negative results. 1-20 Infantry reports SRRP locations 3-1 Infantry CAT BS675395, A at BS699512, C BS865294 and D at BS909225. At 0905hrs Bravo Company has the 43 element on Bridge 124 with snakes at BS753437 and 21 at BS753426.
Charlie Company

Charlie Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Thunder. At 1855hrs Charlie Company at BS870305 observed 4 VC, with weapons and called in Artillery with negative results. At 1905hrs Charlie Company 51 element is at BS873343 and at 1925hrs at BS870305 spotted 4 VC in open 2 had weapons calling Artillery at this time, with unknown finding. 1-20 Infantry report SRRP locations 3-1 Infantry CAT BS675395, A at BS699512, C BS865294 and D at BS909225.
Delta Company

Delta Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Charlie Brown and provided security for Bridges at 95 and 94. At 1405hrs Delta Company report that the 44 element at Bridge 95, 43 on Bridge 94 with 51 at BS920197. At 1900hrs Delta Company at BS920162 detained 9 VC suspects for questioning. 1-20 Infantry report their SRRP locations 3-1 Infantry CAT BS675395, A at BS699512, C BS865294 and D at BS909225.
Echo Company
February 9, 1969
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. At 1135hrs Recon Platoon at BS656584 spotted 2 VC in blue and gray uniforms, 1 had weapon, called artillery and 1 evaded southwest. At 1220hrs Recon Platoon at BS643577 spotted 1 VC with pack and weapon heading north, standing by wood line as if he was talking to some one in bushes, The ARVN are moving into this location. At 1925hrs Recon Platoon at BS634574 spotted 25 in open called artillery with negative assessment, at 1935hrs Recon at BS634574 reports Artillery on target 12 KIA, I VC had mortar base plate evaded. PFC Ewgenij Mitschanko was evac to 312th Evac Hospital sick at 1430hrs (11B10).
