Headquarters and Headquarter Company

Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Thunder and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0710hrs 1-20 infantry 0810hrs Sharks are receiving fire 800 meters north and 500 meters northeast of LZ at BS760547. At 0930hrs 1-20 Bridge 104 at BS887279 blown last night and will be repaired approximate 1130hrs. At 2120hrs 1-20 Infantry Artillery element on LZ Thunder is receiving small arms fire from BS855322, possibly from PF ambush site. MACV notified no contact with ambush site also bridge 106 receiving small arms fire, hits on the APC, fire returned with negative results.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company
February 9, 1968
At 0733hrs Alpha Company conducted their Combat Assault into BS753353 1st lift Touch Down at 0733hrs LZ cold and completed by 0819hrs. Alpha Company and continued with their Search and Destroy operation in their Area of Operation. At 1910hrs Alpha Company has moved into their Night Defense Position at BS758345 with ambushes at BS782408 and BS808402.
Bravo Company

At 0940hrs Bravo Company at BS821402. At 1545hrs Bravo Company is at BS781415 located large amount of rice in hooch will sack up and evac, 1 ton of Rice. At 1910hrs Bravo Company set up in their Night Defense Position at BS795405 with ambushes at BS782408 and BS808402.
Charlie Company

Charlie Company (-) has the Security Mission for LZ Uptight. Charlie Company at 1000hrs is on their Search and Destroy operation at BS730881 and at 1830hrs Charlie Company (-) located at LZ Uptight with ambush tonight at BS741881.
Delta Company
February 9, 1968
Delta Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Thunder. At 1124hrs Delta Company at BS898307 found tunnel 50-100 ft long. In tunnel some medical supplies, found C Ration can, recently used, plus 3 sets of black pajamas. 1841hrs Delta Company remained on LZ Thunder for security with ambush at BS891275.
Echo Company
February 9, 1968
Echo Company and 4.2 platoon and radar platoon where located on LZ Thunder to provide direct support to the Battalion. At 1910hrs Recon Platoon working their Area of Operation and at 1910hrs reports they have set up ambush at BS877288.
