Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0003hrs 1-20 Infantry at LZ Liz is put on Alert, 100%, Alert is called off at 0005hrs. At 0405hrs TMF FM at 0345, Sting 313, Target A, Stationary, unknown number with negative metal confirmation, at 0354hrs engaged 16 HE Artillery 155mm. At 0505hrs Saber Black is on station for Box 31, had negative findings and broke station at 0540hrs. At 1110hrs to Brigade from S-3, Reference Quad 50, move to Nui Vong; Recommend disapproval, reasons, and A limited area of fire due to RD Zone and populated area. B. Can not affords the security forces, to secure IOS 4-50. At 1300hrs Rattler 14 is on station for re supply. At 1803hrs Alpha, Bravo, Charlie Companies reports all patrols have closed. At 2110hrs TMF Sting 293 target A was activated unknown number of stationary personnel, with negative metal confirmation and engaged at 2057hrs engaged with 22 HE 81mm Mortars and at 2059hrs with 8 rounds HE VT Artillery 155mm. At 2120hrs TMF String 294 target A, activated 3 to 5 personnel moving north with metal confirmation and engaged 2113hrs with 10 HE VT Artillery 155mm and at 2113hrs engaged at 2110hrs with 11 rounds HE 81mm Mortar. At 2143hrs Saber 40 is on station for Box 31B, saw 2 personnel (2 dressed in black, 1 in White) evaded vicinity grid BS780552 and took fire, engaged with negative results. At 2220hrs Saber 40 vicinity BS800442 saw large area of trees with 5 large rice bowls, 3 hootches and 2 bunkers, engaged area and destroyed all items. Legend: 1st Platoon 39, 2nd Platoon 74, 3rd Platoon 31, 4th Platoon 57, CO-52.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company
April 9, 1971
Alpha Company Same location no action in Area of Operation. Continued their 360 dug in Defense Position with Observation position. 3rd Platoon is at BS626522. At 1845hrs Alpha Company 1st and 2nd Platoons spotted 6 personnel dressed in all black and wearing packs vicinity BS622509, were seen on a ridge line and Artillery Fire Mission was called in. At 1850hrs same Platoon spotted 8 personnel dressed in all black (3 with packs and weapons) at the same grid, moving south towards highway, engaged with artillery resulting in 5 KBA (credit Alpha Battery, 3-16 Artillery, Medium tubes, LZ Snoopy).
Bravo Company

At 0620hrs Bravo Company 1stand 3rd Platoon moving to Patrol Base at BS639536, 2nd and 4th Platoon with Command Post moving to Patrol Base vicinity BS640546. At 0930hrs Bravo Company Command Post, 4th and 2nd Platoons in their Patrol Base at BS639549. At 1525hrs Bravo Company 2nd and 1st Platoons Patrols have closed. At 1755hrs Bravo Company all patrols have closed. At 2025hrs Bravo Company all elements are in position 2nd and 4th Platoon with Command Post at BS644546, 2nd Platoon at BS644548, and 1st and 3rd Platoon at BS640536.
Charlie Company

At 0655hrs Charlie Company reports all ambushes have closed on Patrol Bases, 1st Platoon and Command Post moving out to BS707420. Charlie Company used multiple patrolling and will use multiple ambushes tonight. At 1000hrs Charlie Company command post, 4th and 1st Platoons in location at BS709413. At 1900hrs Charlie Company elements is moving out Command Post, 1st and 4th Platoons is moving to BS716415, 3rd Platoon to BS700402. 2nd Platoon 2nd squad moving to BS688421, 2nd Platoon 1st squad to BS687421 and 1st Platoon ambush is moving to BS715412.

Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for 1-20 Infantry.
