Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 1230hrs Warlords found bunkers in a complex at BS6146 and destroyed them. Also destroyed some San Pans, Animals were dropped off for about 15 minutes and had negative findings. At 1832hrs Brigade Combat Assault request for Charlie Company will probably be approved. At 1852hrs (ARVN) RF 716 at 1500hrs at BS750533, 7 VC dressed as ARVN went to bridge and asked for water, 19 stayed 200 meters away. They then engaged the security platoon, resulting in 5 RF KIA, 2 RF WIA, 1 RF dependent KIA, 7 VC KIA confirmed, 3 more claimed, 6 M-16 captured and C-19 the suspected force. At 2230hrs TMF at 2200hrs S 61B sighted 6 packs where moving east to west at 2 miles per hour, metal confirmation open fire at 2224hrs 6 HE 105 Artillery. At 2345hrs 1-20 infantry reports Area of Operation approved by MAJ Chin.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company is using multiple patrolling in their Area of Operations. At 1600hrs Alpha Company 63 is at BS595500 and Night Defense Position at BS601510.
Bravo Company

At 0834 Bravo Company 53 element received 2 magazines from 2-3 personnel at BS737625 called in 81 Mortar and checked area with negatives finding.
Charlie Company

At 0715hrs Charlie Company 53 is moving out for BS606469 and at 0748hrs Charlie Company 23 and 63 elements is moving out for BS593469. At 1030hrs Charlie Company 53 element closed on BS601481 and at 1100hrs Charlie Company 23 closed on BS601481 and 63 closed on BS601481. At 1600hrs Charlie Company 23 element is moving to BS590480, 53 moving out for BS598493, and 63 moving out for BS790485. At 1930hrs Charlie Company all elements moving to Night Defense Position at BS5984930.
Delta Company

At 0635hrs Delta Company is moving to Day Logger at BS615528 and closed at 0722hrs at BS640543. At 0854hrs Delta Company 65 found in vicinity BS614548, 4 to 500 pounds of unpolished rice buried in a 3 X 3 basket. At 0855hrs Delta Company has 3 female detainees at BS613533, ages 30-45 negative ID, (1 female husband was killed by US personnel), 1 male evaded into the mountains. At 0940hrs Delta Company 65 element at BS627555 found 3 to 350 pounds of dry unpolished rice buried in 8 5-gallon cans. At 1149hrs Delta Company 66 rat patrol leaving at 2015hrs from 65 location and search from south to the north at grid BS610554, then returned to 65 Location. At 1215hrs from Delta Company 65 location and search from the south to the north at grid BS610554, then return to Delta Company 65 location. At 1900hrs Delta Company all elements moving to Night Defense Position at BS613533. At 1940hrs Delta Company at BS627555, have 1 male detainee, 45 years old, negative ID, found in same area as rice cache, destroyed cache, throwing half in the river and burning the other half.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the coordination responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for 1-20 Infantry. At 1540hrs Recon Platoon request routine Dust Off for 1 US Helbert sick, can’t eat anything completed at 1645hrs.
