Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0440hrs Blue Ghost 49 broke station after negative findings in Box #69. At 0740hrs Helix 37 is on station going to check out 515 Valley and OD Lake. At 1110hrs Warlord 8 is on station to work Box 62. At 1145hrs Warlord 8 breaking station, at BS689302 engaged 1 military age male in green uniform that was evading and in the vicinity of BS7030 observed 1 concrete bunker. At 1110hrs (1-20 Infantry) TOC Reference to the spot 1530hrs 7 November 1970 at BS704461: Delta Company found the following US military clothing, 4 pair US jungle fatigues, Vietnamese military clothing and 10 pair of VC uniforms, heavy cloth pajamas, white bottoms, black tops with 4 pockets, appear to be made to carry ammo magazines. At 1230hr Brigade 3 Area of Operation Extensions for 4 Regiment all Date/Time/Grid ASAP to 152400hrs: (1) BS800310 to BS823340 to BS863314 to BS835285 (2) BS760508 to BS795524 to BS813476 to BS775470, (3) BS723480 to BS757480 to BS775440 to BS720445 approved CPT Parker. At 1250hrs 1-20 Infantry request Area of Operation extension Date/Time/Grid 090600hrs to 122400hrs November 1970 from BS7248 to BS7252 to BS6852 to BS6848 to BS7048 Purpose Combat Assault of Delta Company vicinity BS700485, Area of Operation extension was approved by LT De 090200hrs Box #09. At 1430hrs S-4 80A resupply ship on station. At 0545hrs Primo 6 on station will work for 1-20 Infantry for 30 minutes. At 1607hrs Primo 3 broke station at this time. At 1735hrs S-4 80A and resupply ship is breaking station. At 1735hrs 76C, 1 Vietnamese Civilian reported to PRU that at BS737589, there are US buried. Deaths are due to floods of recent weeks. PRU can be at the 76 location at 0800hrs tomorrow to check it out, 76C requested reply. At 1940hrs 76C at Nui Vong IOS sighting at BS665582, 15 to 20 personnel moving southwest, very wooded area, when Artillery fired they lost the sighting. Request clearance from Charlie Company clearance given 1940hrs and engaged with 48 HE rounds 105mm Artillery. At 1940hrs Brigade reports that they received word from Snoopy, the PF there reported villagers found 2 US personnel with uniforms, possible drowned by flood. PF at Snoopy are ready to on Operation at any time. At 2100hrs MACV a relative of a member of PF 250 while working in his rice field in vicinity BS735623 found 2 US bodies covered with straw. MACV says this report is more factual than other reports. PF 150 will lead us to bodies if requested. Legend 1st Platoon 12-18, 2nd Platoon 62-68, 3rd Platoon 82-88, 4th Platoon 32-38 and CO 44.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company

At 0900hrs Alpha Company 82 element while on a Combat search and clear mission in the 515 Valley found fresh footprints (Ho Chi Min) type at BS713425, could not determine direction or number. They are located along a streambed the 2 element continuing to check out the area. At 1030hrs Alpha Company the 12 element is moving to Patrol Base at BS704418, at 1930hrs Alpha Company 13 ambushes location BS703404, the 83 ambush is location is at BS723401, the 12 element is at BS701401, the 82 element at BS724401 and Alpha Company at Night Defense Position at BS721412 with the 65 element at BS710401.

Charlie Company
November 8, 1970
At 0630hrs Charlie Company 12 element is moving to block BS650560 to BS653567. At 1220hrs Charlie Company Hercules 10 on station to pick up rice from Charlie Company 2 sling loads extracted total weight extracted 10,000 pounds both sorties Hercules breaking station at 1236hrs. At 1600hrs Charlie Company (Late SPOT) Reference Spot: 061125hrs November 1970. The initial spot denotes enemy initiated incident, however further investigation in the way of a debriefing, revealed the following spot to be correct. Point element of the 82 element and their Kit Carson Scout spotted 3 enemy personnel and they maneuvered an M-60 squad up to the point element and engaged the 3 enemy with small arms fire and M-60 machine gun fire. They received 4 to 8 rounds AK 47 fire in return. While the 12 element moved into a blocking position the 82 maneuvered against the 3 personnel the enemy evaded to the west. Upon entering the contact area, the 82 element found 3 made shift rucksacks and list of items is the same. At 1610hrs Charlie Company minus the 32 element and a security element went on a holes hunting patrol with Major Crosby of MACV and employed persistent CS in 10 bunkers vicinity BS656575. They also found 1 booby trap at BS659575. It was 60mm round located off the trail, with a trip wire fishing line. Believed to have been approximately 5 months old, destroyed in place. At 1853hrs Charlie Company 12 element found at BS658576 500 pounds of unpolished rice. It was found in 5 gallon cans, dug into several bunkers and protected from the weather. Believe to be from this years harvest and locally grown. Cans were covered with plastic and straw. They have enough bags to take care of the cache. Will have ready for extraction day 09 November 1970. At 1908hrs Charlie Company 12 element is at BS659577 while on patrol found 1 set of bare foot prints moving west to east vicinity BS659577, foot prints appear to have been made yesterday. At 2250hrs Charlie Company all element in location 12 at BS660573, 44-62 at BS673576, 72 at BS672582 and 32 at BS663564. At 2252hrs Charlie Company 12 element at BS659575 moving into location found 3 women in hootch. Kit Carson Scout questioned them and found out that 3 NVA had left 15 prior to their arrival searched the area with negative findings.
Delta Company

Delta Company continued to patrol and sweep their Area of Operation. The 1-20 Infantry asked for Area of Operation extension, Purpose: for Delta Company to conduct Operations into the extension. The Area of Operation was approved. Delta Company is at LZ Liz.
Echo Company
November 8, 1970
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the coordination responsibility for Base Defense. At 1305hrs 1-20 Infantry to Recon move to BS731411, look deep for trails and enemy indication, employ into 2 ambushes tonight. At 1332hrs Recon Platoon reports that they found 11 graves vicinity BS705428, graves were scattered. The graves are under and just visible from their observation point. In approaching the visible graves they encounter a Bouncing Betty booby trap, pressure release type, destroyed it in place. Another Booby trap was discovered, a chi com stick grenade, believed to be pressure release type, could not be destroyed. The Platoon also discovered fishing line, but could not locate the suspected booby trap. All Booby traps were across a trail in high grass (Between the platoon and the graves). Platoon is backing off and firing artillery barrage resulted in 2 secondary explosions, completed at 1424hrs. At 1607hrs Recon Platoon checked out the graves in the vicinity BS705423, found 1 body in each of the 11 graves, bodies had been killed recently and were all badly mutilated, they were stripped of all clothing and equipment. Also in the same vicinity Platoon spotted tracks along a stream. There were tracks of 4 people, wearing boots, and were 2/3 the size the sizes of GI type boots. Tracks were moving from the opening in the valley, east into the flatlands. Also found tracks 3" in diameter, of a cat, was moving in the same direction. At 1715hrs Recon Platoon 12 is moving out for BS731423 and the 13 element is moving out for BS731422. At 1815hrs Recon Platoon while moving on patrol to location vicinity BS731411 spotted several tracks in the riverbed at location vicinity BS731422. The tracks were headed in both easterly and westerly direction. They request permission to change snake locations so they can snake this location. At 1952hrs Recon Platoon the 12 in location at BS731423 and the 13 element in location at BS731422.
