Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 1045hrs Bravo Company 3-1 Infantry was Combat Assaulted from LZ Bronco to LZ BS754389 completed at 1045hrs to support Delta Company. Bravo Company 3-1 Infantry at BS776403 engaged 2 NVA with the results 2 NVA KIA (had red star on belt buckles).
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company secured LZ Charlie Brown with local ambushes today 1 Platoon conducts a Recon in Force to BS9121. At 1010hrs Alpha Company vicinity BS912214 detainee 5 VCS and at 1600hrs vicinity BS912214 detained 1 more VCS.
Bravo Company

Bravo Company has the Security Mission for LZ Liz and today has 1 Platoon that will conduct saturation patrolling in vicinity BS7441. At 1028hrs Bravo Company at BS738425 engaged 1 VC with pack with result 1 VC KIA.
Charlie Company

Charlie Company has the Security Mission for LZ Thunder with local ambushes, and today remained on LZ Thunder.
Delta Company

At 0800hrs vicinity BS778386 Delta Company found 2 VC KIA and at 1900hrs found 1 more VC KIA. At 0955hrs at BS774412 Delta Company in heavy contact with unknown size NVA element contact continued to 1200hrs with results US 2 KHA and 12 WHA (E) and 1 WHA (M) in the initial contact and contact broken at 1200hrs. At 1045hrs Bravo Company 3-1 Infantry was Combat Assaulted from LZ Bronco to LZ BS754389 completed at 1045hrs to support Delta Company. At 1620hrs vicinity BS776406 Delta Company found 2 NVA KBA and 2 AK 47 from today contact and at 1710hrs vicinity BS777404 E Troop 1-1 CAV OPCON to Delta Company received 1 RPG round with results 1 WHA and Dust Off completed at 1835hrs 1 WHA. At 1900hrs Bravo Company 3-1 infantry at BS776403 have 2 WHA evac and still in contact with the same element that Delta Company was. Bravo Company 3-1 Infantry at BS776403 engaged 2 NVA with the results 2 NVA KIA (had red star on belt buckles). At 1900hrs Delta Company at BS785408 engaged 4 NVA with results 4 NVA KIA. Delta Company reports PFC RICHARD LYNN ADCOCK, 1LT DAVID HENRY DEFORGE LISTED AS KHA. Delta Company also reports Purple Hearts Award SP4 Wendell K. Strode, SP4 Verdin E. Money, PFC David E. Fletcher, PFC Dennis L. Emig, SP4 Herbert F. Belcher, PFC Stephen S. Standefer, SGT Clifford B. Tholen, SGT Donald J. Timmerman and SP4 Edward Lacy, SP4 William Shorter and SP4 Frank Eustice. Delta Company also reports SGT Clifford B Tholen, PFC Herbert Belcher and Donald J. Timmerman where evac to the 27th Surgical Hospital and rest where evac to the 312 Evac Hospital.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for LZ Liz Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for the 1-20 Infantry conducting Security sweeps around LZ Liz and reaction force for the battalion.
