Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0850hrs Primo 6 a Visual Recon Team had negative finding. Land Clearing Operation the Engineer in their working location at BS771543. At 1200hrs Brigade 4-3 Infantry requests an Area of Operation extension Date/Time 081200 to 182400hrs from BS7043 to BS7144 to BS7540 to BS7539 to BS7439 as a buffer zone. CPT Bassett approved it south of the 515 and use of the 515 highway. At 1350hrs Charlie Company 26 Engineer 1round 155mm was detonated by a D7 with negative casualties at BS773545. It blew 7 track pads off the track on the dossier. It was a trip wire device attached to bamboo and it left a crater 3' ’cross and 1' deep. At 1470hrs the Charlie Company 26 Engineer reports 1 81mm round at grid BS772545 exploded with negative casualties. The round was a dud and the dossier ran over it with no damage to the dossier. At 1715hrs Charlie Company 26 Engineer a total of 23 hours were netted with 25 acres cleared at BS772541, BS773545, BS772340 and BS775540 with 5 bunkers destroyed, 10 meters of tunnels destroyed with 1 secondary explosion, 4 booby traps destroyed and 105mm round destroyed, 300 gallons of fuel were used with 10 pounds of C4 were expended. Also 3 D7 that where operational with 2 dead-line and 1 CEV operational with 1 dead-line. At 1925hrs Radar sighted 8 to 10 stationary personnel at BS729466 with negative clearance and Alpha Company was informed. At 2010hrs Radar at BS767440 sighted 3 to 5 stationary personnel with negative clearance and at BS789401 10 to 15 personnel were sighted moving east and engaged with 18mm HE Mortar rounds. At 2100hrs Radar at BS768490 sighted 10 to 15 stationary personnel with negative clearance. At 2235hrs Radar sighted 6 to 9 personnel moving northeast at BS785510 and engaged with 6 HE of Artillery 155mm and at 2225hrs the North OP sighted 1 to 3 stationary personnel at BS759441 with negative clearance and informed Delta Company.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco. AT 1755hrs Bravo Company 39 Engineer at BS624855 received 1 round .45 caliber fire while traveling south on highway 1 near LZ Dottie Access Road with results 1 US WIA (E).
Alpha Company
June 8, 1970
At 1845hrs Alpha Company request routine Dust Off for two US with high temp completed at 1848hrs. Alpha Company is in their Night Defense Position at BS743453.
Bravo Company
June 8, 1970
At 0958hrs Bravo Company we requests an Urgent Dust Off for 2 RF from the 172 RF Company who hit a booby trap of unknown type and have multiple frag wounds completed at 1008hrs grid BS760460. At 1540hrs Bravo Company 16 element and 180 PF have one female detainee, 35, no ID, at grid BS813438 and will send to MACV. At 1715hrs Bravo Company 55 element found and destroyed one booby trap at BS833399.
Charlie Company

At 0730hrs Charlie Company reports the 55 element has closed on LZ Liz. At 1600hrs Charlie Company is moving off LZ Liz. At 1730hrs Charlie Company is location at LZ Dragon. At 1825hrs Charlie Company requested a routine Dust Off for two Vietnamese children, one with a cut on the head and the other frag wounds on the legs, at BS727534. It is unknown how they received these wounds and completed at 1839hrs.
Delta Company
June 8, 1970
At 0630hrs Delta Company the 13 and 14 elements are closed on their Day Logger and the 55 and 56 elements have closed on the Command Post. At 0642hrs Delta Company the papers the 54 element got last night off the VC KIA was a diary of himself. At 0710hrs Delta Company the 33 and 32 elements are in their Day Logger at BS739548, the 15 element is 150 meters south of the Day Logger and the 13 element is 100 meters north of their Day logger. At 1545hrs Delta Company closed on LZ Liz taking control of Security Mission for LZ Liz. At 2040hrs Delta Company reports all access road snake are in location. At 2300hrs 1-20 Infantry in a conversation among Major White (Senior Advisor of Mo Duc) and CPT Bassett reference a Vietnamese report of alleged rape by US troops at 0930hrs at a village vicinity grid coordinates BS741547. Major White indicated that the allegations were completely false, based on the investigation by Village Chief and CPT Jorganson (Deputy Advisor of Mo Duc).
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the coordination responsibility for Base Defense. At 0744hrs Recon Platoon all elements are in their Day Logger at BS753603. At 1800hrs Recon Platoon the 14 element found and blew in place a booby trap 105mm round with a trip wire firing device at BS760613. At 1945hrs Recon Platoon while moving to our snake location, they received 8 rounds of AK 47 fire from approximately 600 meters to their north. While moving to the area of contact they spotted 3 VC and engaged at 200 meters and saw two of the VC drop at grid BS750631, in checking the area no bodies could be found but found 13 packs inside an old French house. The packs contained 3 RPG rounds, size 7, documents, 20 blasting caps, 5 hand frag grenades, 1 US gas mask, 10 Chi Com grenades, 5 NVA uniforms and medical supplies. Recon Platoon the 13 element is at BS748625, the 14 element is at BS762626 and the 15 element is at BS745630.
