Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. LRRP Idaho was inserted at grid BS762364. At 0810hrs Charlie Company 26th Engineer at BS814378 received 1 round of 40mm rifle grenade landed 5 feet from Toc, negative casualties or damage. At 0905hrs Delta Company 19th Engineers at BS835234 mine sweep north was at bridge 109 when 2 Vietnamese, children told them there had been a mine planted 100meters south of the Village after they had already passed the village. When returned to the area the mine had already been disposed of by ARVN. At 1025hrs 1-20 Infantry LZ Liz request routine Dust Off for Vietnamese woman from artillery frag, Dust Off completed at 1020hrs to the 6th Support. At 1916hrs Charlie Company 3-1 Infantry OPCON to 1-20 Infantry is at BS815396 and at 1820hrs engaged 1 NVA with weapon with result 1 NVA KIA and 1 K 44 CIA #96969.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco. At 0225hrs 174th Aviation LZ Bronco, flare ship while making approach at north end of LZ Bronco, received approximately 20 rounds automatic weapons fire from three different positions, negative hits, negative casualties, fire came from southwest northwest and north of perimeter. At 1635hrs Bravo Company at BS775453, truck convoy received sniper fire with negative casualties.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Dragon and at 0810hrs the 44 element is at BS709524. At 1215hrs Alpha Company reports the 21 element at BS750564 and 51 at BS705516 all remaining elements on LZ Dragon. At 1350hrs 1-20 Infantry reports the SRRP locations, Alpha BS689503, Bravo BS863294 and Delta at BS909225. At 1440hrs Alpha Company at BS745568 received sniper fire calling in Artillery with unknown results.
Bravo Company

Bravo Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz with the 22 element on Bridge 124. At 1635hrs Bravo Company at BS775453 reports truck convoy received sniper fire, negative casualties. At 1820hrs Bravo Company at BS765460 engaged 1 VC evading which results is 1 VC KIA. At 1350hrs 1-20 Infantry reports SRRP locations A BS689503, B BS863294 and D at BS909225.
Charlie Company

Charlie Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Thunder with the 96 element on Bridge 111. At 1345hrs Charlie Company reports the 21 element is moving out on a Recon in Force Patrol. At 1350hrs 1-20 Infantry reports SRRP locations A BS689503, B BS863294 and D at BS909225.
Delta Company

Delta Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Charlie Brown and provided security for Bridges at 95 and 94. AT 1400hrs Delta Company at BS922165 requested Dust Off for 1 Vietnam female shot in upper arm while evading and evac to LZ Bronco also Delta Company evac a total of 9 Detainee to LZ Liz for interrogation. At 1405hrs Delta Company report that the 44 element at Bridge 95, 43 on Bridge 94 with 51 at BS920197. At 1900hrs Delta Company at BS920162 detained 9 VC suspects for questioning. 1-20 Infantry report their SRRP locations 3-1 Infantry CAT BS675395, A at BS699512, C BS865294 and D at BS909225.
Echo Company
February 8, 1969
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. At 0850hrs Recon Platoon at BS640573 spotted 3 VC in black moving northeast, one had pack couldn’t tell if they had weapons notified friendly ahead of time. At 1910hrs Recon Platoon at BS620557 observed 14 VC with weapons and packs, called in artillery with negative results.
