Forward Area: (1-20 Infantry Headquarters) is located at LZ Liz and will continue to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0415hrs Air Calvary there will be a first light Visual Recon in the 515 Valley from BS703437 to BS715450 to BS7545 to BS7544 to BS7641 to BS760367 to BS712430 to BS703430 to start by Air Calvary was sent by LT Fack. At 0555hrs 1-20 Infantry Area of extension 08080hrs to 102400hrs approve by Major Brown designated B 45. At 0735hrs Warlord on station for Visual Recon of Box 50 and at 0805hrs Warlord 23 vicinity BS729381 spotter 1 bunker that had been destroyed by artillery within the last 24 hours. At BS728390 he spotted a campfire that was still smoldering, and at BS720410 he spotted a well-used trail. At 0817hrs Primo 4 is on station for Command and Control Helicopter. At 0855hrs Primo 4 broke station for a priority mission, total blade time 30 minutes. At 1110hrs Helix 38 is on station and working for Alpha Company. At 1615hrs S-5 vicinity BS775453 has conducted a Med Cap at Pho Long Ville treated a total of 181 Vietnamese. At 1705hrs Dolphin 7 on station for Combat Assault for Bravo Company and Battalion Commander departed LZ Liz for the Combat Assault. At 1855hrs Bravo Company Combat Assault, 2nd Platoon PZ 1740hrs to grid BS720450, 3rd Platoon PZ 1742hrs LZ BS733450, Command Post and 4th Platoon PZ 1753hrs LZ BS740432, 1st Platoon PZ 1822hrs LZ BS725425hrs and Battalion Commander returns to LZ Liz and released lift ships. At 2055hrs Q Company had a trip flare go off at BS693600, they engaged the area with hand frag, M-79 and 81mm HE rounds. They will check the area out in the morning. Legend: 1st Platoon 83-88, 2nd Platoon 33-38, 3rd Platoon 03-08, 4th Platoon 63-68 and CO 09.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company
December 8, 1970
At 0730hrs Alpha Company 3rd Platoon in location at BS754575, Bs774546, BS758570, and set up Patrol Bases and Saturation Patrolling in their Area of Operation. At 0930hrs 1st Platoon en route to their Patrol base, lead element spotted 1 VC with a pack, at a distance of 500 meters. They assaulted the enemy engaging him with small arms and M-79 fire. They overran and killed him at edge of a stream. The VC was wearing purple and black, 25-30 years old and negative ID. Pack contained ½ pound of rice, 1 razor blade, flare parachute, 1 Chi Com grenade. At 1920hrs Alpha Company 1st Platoon Command Post and 4th Platoon at BS770577, 1st Platoon ambush BS767575, 2nd Platoon BS760583 ambush BS758597 and BS761590.
Bravo Company
December 8, 1970
At 0750hrs Bravo Company at BS664566, requests 1 routine Dust Off for 1 Vietnamese child with frag wounds above knee caused by demolition completed at 0830hrs. Bravo Company conducted a Combat Assault 1st PZ 1740hrs and last LZ 1830hrs BS725425-BS740432 and at LZ found 1 105mm round filled with Petna, not set up as a booby trap, destroyed in place. At 2215hrs, Bravo Company Command Post BS738437, 3rd Platoon BS744443, and BS741447, BS748448, 2nd Platoon BS713443 and BS721452, the 4th Platoon BS735437 and 1st Platoon ambush BS723419, BS715426.
Charlie Company

At 1440hrs Charlie Company during a training exercise of Heist Mission, Alpha Company Member was acting as a demonstrator, when the cable of the jungle penetrates broke, man received back injuries Name: Watts completed at 1440hrs. Charlie Company will continue with their Security Mission for LZ Liz.
Delta Company
December 8, 1970
At 0840hrs Delta Company 3rd Platoon is in their patrol base at BS746558. At 1210hrs Delta Company BS746558, Routine Dust Off for 1 US with wound on side of head received while blowing a bunker, Name (Crommelin) Dust Off is completed at 1225hrs. At 1330hrs Delta Company 1st Platoon patrol closed on BS741574. At 1625hrs Delta Company patrol is moving out for BS743578. At 1915hrs Delta Company Command Post 1st and 4th Platoons BS751574, 3rd Platoon BS743557 and 2nd Platoon BS761558. Delta Company reports that PFC Robert G. Crommelin was treated at B 23 Medical and evac to 91st Evac Hospital with frag wounds to face was hit by back blast blowing enemy bunker.
Echo Company
December 8, 1970
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the coordination responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon will continue their Security Mission for the 1-20 Infantry.
