Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Cork and will continued to work with ARVN units their Area of Operations in OPERATION VERNON LAKE II.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco. At 0715hrs Charlie Company 26 Engineer at BS732548 reports 2 EM traveling on Highway 1 from LZ Dottie received unknown number of sniper fire 1 round hit vehicle, glass from Wind Shield caused minor injuries to 1 EM (M).
Alpha Company
December 8, 1968
Alpha Company will continue their Security Mission for LZ Cork. LATE ENTRY At 1550hrs Alpha Company reports 1 EM stopped breathing clause unknown. Requested Dust Off completed at 2020hrs to Chu Lai was given artificial respiration, last reported listed as fair, cause unknown.
Bravo Company

Bravo Company will continue to use their Search and Destroy operations in their Area of Operation. Bravo Company reports their Night Defense Position at BS320563.
Charlie Company
December 8, 1968
Charlie Company will continue to conduct Combat Sweep and Clear operations in their Area of Operation. Charlie received sporadic sniper fire on several occasions with negative casualties. Charlie Company reports their Night Defense Position at BS319581.
Delta Company
December 8, 1968
Throughout the day Delta Company found four small rice caches and continued their Search and Clear Operation. At 1500hrs Delta Company at BS363579 observed 1 individual dress in black clothing carrying a (Chieu Hoi Slip) he turned himself in will evac to LZ Volunteer. At 1725hrs Delta Company at BS262583 detain 1 VCS 35 (years old), search a hut near him and found 1 Military type belt with a Star on and 7 black, green and gray also 1 black PJ with 1 NVA Canteen along with other micas supplies’ evac and all other supplies destroyed.
Echo Company
December 8, 1968
Echo Company is located at LZ Volunteer where Battalion Forward is and coordinates with the Battalion Rear Elements and Base Defense elements on LZ Volunteer. The 4.2 Platoon is located on LZ Volunteer where they continue to provide direct fire support for the (1-20 Infantry Battalion) with Recon Platoon to continue their Security Mission for the TOC on LZ Volunteer.
