Headquarters and Headquarter Company
September 7, 1971
Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Custer and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0700hrs S-4 Resupply bird is on station Minuteman 13 tail # 995. At 1015hrs 1-20 infantry Primo 3 is on station and at 1120hrs report that they are breaking station. At 15530hrs resupply bird has broken station at this time. Legend: 1st Platoon 59, 2nd Platoon 56, 3rd Platoon 89, 4th Platoon 97, CO-29.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for Chu Lai.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company will continue their Stand Down in Chu Lai.
Bravo Company
September 7, 1971
At 0845hrs Bravo Company is moving to their Patrol Base at BS505580. At 0855hrs Bravo Company requested priority Dust Off for 1 US with fever Line # B6156 completed by resupply Bird at 0910hrs. At 1355hrs Bravo Company Commander stated he and his elements were exhausted by this morning move. At 1600hrs Bravo Company at BS499578 found a hooch with a rock as a overhang (size of hooch was 6’ X 8’ X 10’) last used approximately 1 week ago. Contents in Hooch 1 bed made of bamboo, 1 water container, 1 window, the window was apparently used as an OP had vision of LZ Custer and all the way to the sea, hooch was destroyed. SP4 John Krebebach was attached to the 91 Evac Hospital.
Charlie Company

At 0846hrs Charlie Company 1st Platoon moving to BS521568 and at 1000hrs Charlie Company closed on location at BS521588. At 1020hrs Charlie Company is closing back on LZ Custer and their Security Mission.
Delta Company
September 7, 1971
At 0700hrs Delta Company has their resupply bird on station and then completed at 0850hrs Delta Company is moving to BS505573 where they established their Patrol Base at 1000hrs. At 1530hrs Delta Company is located at BS508578 while in their Patrol Base the Company Commander was Recon by fire and line #W6043 took shrapnel in the left check caused by a M-203 after a hour and a half it was changed to Urgent Dust Off completed at 1745hrs. At 1830hrs Delta Company is moving to their Night Defense Position at BS507577 and they closed at 1903hrs.
Echo Company
September 7, 1971
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Custer, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the coordination responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for 1-20 Infantry.
