Headquarters and Headquarter Company

Battalion Forward: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and continued their working with the ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0805hrs Helix 39 is on station, we have a diverted 500 pound stick bombs and request a target. The Target is grid BS813455 which spider holes, bunkers, and peculiar activities. At 0935hrs Helix 39 at grid BS813455 we destroy one structure and 15-20 meters of trench line. At grid BS758396 we destroyed one structure, 15-20 meters of trench caved in and possible 2 holes uncovered, but we could not tell whether they were entrances or wells. At 1610hrs S-3 the RF personnel that was working with our Bravo Company this morning was dusted off to Quang Ngai, had part of left foot amputated, man’s name (Pham Sung). We informed Bravo Company and MACV Duc Pho.
Battalion Rear: Battalion Rear continued their Mission for providing general support for the Battalion.
Alpha Company

At 0742hrs Alpha Company element closed on LZ Liz. At 1058hrs Alpha Company 55 element is in location and at 2005hrs all 3 snakes are now in location. Alpha Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz and the Access Road.
Bravo Company
October 7, 1969
At 0715hrs Bravo Company requests Urgent Dust Off for two US (one litter and one ambulatory) hit anti personnel mine as they moved out on patrol both members of the 82 element name Dodds and Blevins, completed at 0930hrs. Bravo Company is using Recon in force in their Area of Operations today, Day Logger at BS784427. At 1610hrs S-3 the RF personnel that was working with Bravo Company this morning was dusted Off to Quang Ngai, had part of his foot amputated. Man’s Name (Pham Sung). We informed Bravo Company and MAVC-Duc Pho. At 1858hrs Bravo Company my 75 element while in it snake location received 1 incoming M-79 round or 60mm mortar round. Negative casualties negative contact (BS789416). At 1913hrs Bravo Company at about dust this evening, the element on the southern Bridge, received 5 sniper rounds in the same area that the Command and Control helicopter was hit yesterday, the returned fire with their 90mm recoilless, negative further action was reported. The 75 element at 1915hrs moved 100 meters north of their earlier snake location. Bravo Company reports the following PFC John J. Blevins, PFC Emmett Young and PFC Wilson Moore, SGT Thomas E Dodds where evac to the 91st Evac Hospital.
Charlie Company

Delta Company

Delta Company is still OPCON to the 4-21 Infantry. Delta Company is located at 1535hrs located at BS817263 and at 1800hrs are at grid BS810297 which will be used as their Night Defense Position.
Echo Company
October 7, 1969
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. At 0617hrs the 4.2 Platoon reports Observe Missions 2, total expend 14 HE rounds. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon remains on LZ Liz with Security Mission and 1-20 Infantry.
