Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0245hrs Nighthawk, Blue Ghost 41 going to check a radar sighting of 5 to 6 Stationary personnel and to check Box 70, At 0320hrs negative findings in that area, going to check Alpha Company Contact. At 0555hrs Blue Ghost 41 broke station at this time. At 0708 MACV Commandos of Eagle Flight detained 2 females ages 19 and 21 at BS767571. Both have negative ID and both were evac to Mo Duc. At 1000hrs 1-20 TOC reports Division Commander, Assistant Commander and Brigade Commander all are located at LZ Liz. At 1025hrs 1-20 Infantry AMC Bird at LZ Liz for Combat Assault, Battalion Commander departed for Combat Assault. At 1040hrs Helix 38, Shark 6, Primo 4 and 2 Cobra Gun Ships on station. At 1143hrs 1-20 Infantry Combat Assault 1 PZ 1033hrs Delta 82 LZ at BS700453, 2 PZ 1040hrs Delta 12 LZ at BS700453, 3 PZ 1100hrs Delta 44-32 LZ at BS700453, 4 PZ 1113hrs Delta 62 LZ at BS700453, 5 PZ 1118hrs Alpha 62 LZ BS691452, 6 PZ 1129hrs Alpha 82 LZ at BS691452, 7 PZ 1134hrs Alpha 44-32 LZ at BS691452, 8 PZ 1139hrs Alpha 12 LZ at BS691452, at 1150hrs 1-20 Infantry Combat Assault of Alpha and Delta Companies completed and Battalion Commander returned to LZ Liz. At 1300hrs S-4 reports 80A on station for resupply 1300hrs to 1630hrs. At 1315hrs Helix 33 on station sent to check the area where Alpha and Delta Company are working. At 1535hrs Hercules 15 on station to extract rice from Charlie Company 2 sorties extracted, 1 from the 12 element and 1 from the 82 element for a total extracted of 5,500 pounds. At 1718hrs S-4 reports 80A broke station at 1718hrs Resupply is completed. At 1700hrs MACV Mo Duc District Chief arrived at LZ Liz at 071700hrs November 1970. He states civilians in the area of Alpha Company contact last night reports 23 NVA were killed by artillery. Civilians came to Duc My today and gave this report to agents at that location. District Chief states he believes the NVA will bury the dead along the foot hills vicinity BS7043 and BS6942, Recon Platoon will be reacting. At 1745hrs Dolphin 6 AMC ship on station for Combat Assault of Recon, also 2 slicks on station for Combat Assault. At 1755hrs MACV Mo Duc at BS731541 requests 1 Urgent Dust Off for 1 friendly Government with shrapnel to legs due to Booby Trip personnel is litter case, secure LZ and negative contact in the 24 hours, ground contact uphill Oscar, Dust Off completed at 1815hrs. At 1800hrs Recon elements are inserted and completed at 1833hrs. At 1800hrs 76C at Nui Vong found in vicinity BS695598 1 command detonated type booby trap 105 round with electric wire attached, but the detonator was gone. Destroyed the Booby Trap in place approximately 6 months old, and was not on a trail. At 1845hrs TMF 6 to 8 personnel stationary at BS698435, requested Fire Mission, Stationary Target at BS698435, requested Fire Mission, Target moved to BS697434 engaged at 1919hrs with 6 HE rounds 105mm Artillery. At 1926hrs 76 C at Nui Vong, area sighting at BS684595 of 4 to 5 stationary personnel, also spotted flashlight requested fire mission and expend 24 HE rounds105mm Artillery. At 1930hrs 1-20 Infantry requests Area of Operation extension Date/Time/Grid ASAP to 101800hrs November 1970 from BS700426 southwest to BS670380 then east to BS743380, purpose Alpha Company to check out intelligence from Mo Duc. At 2345hrs SOP Yankee 33 Radar sighted 6 to 9 personnel that where moving south at BS716424, engaged with Artillery target increased in size to 10 to 19 engaged with Artillery 3 X 3, at 2358hrs got check fire. Radar SOP still had movement in target area, Blue Ghost 49 began Recon by fire with negative results. At 0020hrs 2nd Platoon Alpha Company alerted to move to target area with 1st Platoon Alpha Company ready to react. At 100hrs radar sighted smaller target vicinity 515 road, get negative clearance, proximity Alpha Company BS711432. 0130hrs 2nd Platoon Alpha Company sweeping target area Artillery shifted 600 meters to southwest to block. At 0200hrs 2nd Platoon Alpha Company had negative findings in the target area, returning to Alpha Company Night Defense Position. At 0247hrs 2nd Platoon Alpha Company closed on Alpha Company Night Defense Position with all personnel accounted for. Legend 1st Platoon 12-18, 2nd Platoon 62-68, 3rd Platoon 82-88, 4th Platoon 32-38 and CO 44.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company
November 7, 1970
At 0820hrs Alpha Company 12 element at BS721434 found 1 pack containing 2 Chi Com grenades, 1 bottle of LSA, (2) AK 47 magazines (loaded), 1 RPG round, documents, 1 enemy uniform, OD Shirt and pants. Delta Company and Alpha Company conducted another Combat Assault with Alpha Company 1st Pick up at 1133hrs and last LZ at 1143hrs. Alpha Company then started there sweeping of the area to the southeast with negative finding. There were no signs, of any recent activity; there were no trails that are easily passable, continuing to sweep at this time 1400hrs.

Charlie Company
November 7, 1970
At 0705hrs Charlie Company at BS662564 requested routine Dust Off for 1 Scout Dog who was in a fight with a Tracker Dog and he sustained wound to the neck, Dust Off completed at 0930hrs. At 1155hrs Charlie Company 84 element at BS665581 located a booby trap on trail, can of Petna, smoke grenade. It had been tripped sometime previous. Trip wire was a piece of fishing wire, Booby Trap was on a trail and appeared to by approximately 5 months old, it was not tripped by Charlie Company and destroyed it all in place. At 1535hrs Hercules 15 on station to extract rice from Charlie Company 2 sorties extracted, 1 from the 12 element and 1 from the 82 element for a total extracted of 5,500 pounds. At 1855hrs Charlie Company 12 element at BS652575 found marks of a boat pulled up on the beach. There were an undeterminable number of bare foot prints leading away from the location. It was believed to have taken place sometime last night, possibly 8 hours prior to discovery. At 1927hrs Charlie Company the 12 element is location at BS658558, 44, 32 and 82 elements in location at BS664565. At 1940hrs Charlie Company reports their locations 62 in location at BS663564, 65 at BS671556 and 66 at BS662558.
Delta Company

Delta Company with Alpha Company conducts a Combat Assault from 1030hrs to 1139hrs. At 1530hrs Delta Company at BS704460, while moving along ridgeline found 2 hootches, well camouflaged, inside the hootches found: 4 pair of US Jungle fatigues, 10 pair of VN uniforms, VC type, heavy cloth, white bottom and black tops with 4 pockets. Spotted two personnel evading, l male approximately age 17, 1 female age 25, engaged at 60 meters to South, WIA both personnel and found 2 blood trails and checked area thoughtfully with negative ID, also small baby with her. Tracker dogs could not be inserted due to the heavy vegetation. At 1840hrs Delta Company reports 82, 62 and 44 elements in location at BS710450 with 12, 32 elements in location BS705449.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the coordination responsibility for Base Defense. At 1205hrs Recon Platoon at BS767568, the 12 element received 3 rounds of sniper fire from BS763569 the rounds were fired from approximately 300 to 350 meters away, to their northwest and the 14 element is maneuvering with negative findings. At 1212hrs Recon Platoon at 770556, result of interrogation of civilians by interpreter, there are 3 VC working that area. They have 1 AK 47 and 1 unknown weapon, Civilians don’t know where they are at this time all the rest of the VC left the area when Recon was Combat Assaulted into the area. Recon will continue to search the area. At 1700hrs intelligence from MACV Mo Duc District Chief and Recon Platoon will be reacting. At 1800hrs Recon 12 conduct a Combat Assault Recon 12 LZ at 1818hrs and Recon 13 LZ at 1833hrs. At 2200hrs 1-20 Infantry Recon 12 reports their location at BS705428 and the 13 element in location at BS706428.
