Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0455hrs 1-20 Infantry Radar Targets At 1950hrs 3 to 5 stationary personnel were sighted at BS834429 and engaged with 20 HE of Artillery 105mm. At 2105hrs 1 vehicle was sighted at BS740412 and engaged with 9 HE of 4.2 Mortar and 11 HE of Artillery 155mm. At 0005hrs 5 to 15 stationary personnel were sighted at BS795455 and engaged with 10 HE of Artillery 155mm. At 0910hrs 26 Engineer CPT Keefe said he would be able to get some assistance to the Two Ville to build a bunker, approximate time 1300hrs. At 0935hrs 1-20 Infantry Battalion Commander picked up 6 females detainees suspected of being a rice carrying party at BS7340/BS7341. Four of the females had ID and 2 had no ID, two were dressed in black age 20 to 25 and 50, 1 dressed in green top and black pants was 25-30. Also 1 had on a purple to and black pants and 30 years of age and 2 dressed in blue tops and black pants and age 25-35, they were moving west. At 1500hrs 1-20 Infantry TOC all units were informed to reemphasize the Rules of Engagement no later the 1200hrs on 8 May 1970. At 2225hrs Radar sighted 10 to 15 stationary personnel at BS735419 and Charlie Company was informed. At 2355hrs Radar sighted 30 to 40 stationary personnel at BS730461 and Alpha Company was informed.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and will continue their Security Mission for LZ Bronco. At 1220hrs the Bud Pad was informed to re supply Charlie Company and Alpha and Charlie Company will back haul in this order. PFC David Choitner was attached to the 91st Evac Hospital.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company using multiple patrolling in their Area of Operation found 2 tunnels and destroyed them. At 1511hrs Alpha Company 43 element is going to the bottom of the hill to look for where the mailbag was dropped this morning, by the Dolphin. (The Mail bag from the Command and Control Helicopter at BS723467) At 1710hrs Alpha Company 54, 56, 36, and the 55 element are going on their patrol. Alpha Company the company is moving to their Night Defense Position at BS717467.
Bravo Company

Bravo Company is using multiple patrolling in their Area of Operation today. At 0734hrs Bravo Company the 39 element is working on the bamboo cutting detail at BS774424. At 0805hrs the 38 element is moving out for road security at BS825398. At 1430hrs Bravo Company as the 54 element swept grid BS769424 they had seven persons with weapons who engaged the 54 element with 7 to 8 rounds of AK 47 fire and then evaded to the southwest. We engaged with small arms at 20 meters and the 74 element then engaged at 200 meters, and at grid BS767424 we have one male, 25 years old and dressed in black with no ID, KIA. The 184 PF Platoon then engaged at 150 meters and killed another male, 45 years old wearing blue and white with no ID, at BS772428, and the 6 females with no ID were dusted off. At 1430hrs Bravo Company we requested an Urgent Dust Off for four female found who were trying to evade at BS765428.
Charlie Company

At 0550 Charlie Company moving to BS824407, at 0800hrs we found a 155mm round in a hedge row at BS823434, Establish Defense Logger and searching their Area of Operation. At 1136hrs in vicinity BS842401 the 76 element found NVA medical pouch which was washed ashore. At 1240hrs 34 request an EOD Team to blow a 500 pound bomb at BS8240417. EOD team is sent out at 1400hrs and Bomb destroyed by 1544hrs. At 1303hrs 34, 31, 94, has 59 personnel, 54 element has 34 personnel and 78 element has 29 personnel. Charlie Company reports in a Combat Assault, from BS807443 to BS760380, 1st PZ at 1525hrs to Last LZ at 1612hrs. All elements move to pre planned locations. At 2010hrs Charlie Company has large number of snake are in position.
Delta Company

Delta Company will continue their Security Mission for LZ Liz. At 0628hrs Delta Company the SRRP has closed on LZ Liz. At 2004hrs Delta Company the 56 element is roving from BS760435 to BS716439 and the 37 element is at BS753413.
Echo Company
May 7, 1970
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the coordination responsibility for Base Defense. At 0615hrs Recon Platoon the Will Scarlet element has a PZ at 0608hrs and a LZ of BS688420 at 0615hrs cold. At 0646hrs Recon Platoon SRRP is moving to their Day Logger. At 0723hrs Recon SRRP is in their Day Logger at BS686416. At 1231hrs Recon Platoon the 52 element has 100 pound of rice (later it was reported to be a ton). A Chieu Hoi leaded the 52 element to the rice, which was evac to LZ Bronco. At 1514hrs Recon we have a night snake at BS688417. At 1805hrs 1-20 Infantry TOC reports Recon Platoon 54 element has been inserted into grid BS724470 by the Command and Control Helicopter. At 1936hrs Recon the 56 element is at BS688417 and the element will break squelch twice when indicating a negative situation report.
