At 2130hrs Bunker line, fuel gas ignited accidentally and set off 1 claymore. At 1130hrs 1-20 Infantry will combat assault 2 Platoons from Charlie Company ASAP PZ BS780382 to LZ BS735400 was completed at 1236hrs.
Rear Area: Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco. At 1453 11 Brigade Reports Late Entry by Alpha Company 19 Engineer BS786423hrs on May 7, 1969 reports 19 Engineer were ambushed by 10-12 VC received 500 to 700 rounds automatic weapons fire with results 1 KIA. PFC JOHN JOSEPH GLYNN JR ALPHA COMPANY 19 ENGINEER IS LISED AS KIA.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company conducts joint operation with PRU on a Cordon and Search at BS767445 and detainee two VCS vicinity BS769445 and also continued with their Security Mission for LZ Liz. Alpha Company also conducts a Recon in Force with one platoon to BS750446. At 0815hrs Alpha Company at BS769445 will evac 8 detainees to LZ Liz, also found 1800 pounds of rice, and will destroy the rice.
Bravo Company

Bravo Company conducts saturation patrolling vicinity of BS705440 and BS704460.
Charlie Company
May 7, 1969
Charlie Company conducts a Recon in Force to BS780382 and at 1100hrs Charlie Company observed at BS735400 5 VC/NVA wearing pitch helmets, engaged with artillery. At 1115hrs Charlie Company at BS831427 engaged 1 VC evading results 1 VC KIA, 1 US pistol belt, 2 M-26 hand grenades, 1 M-1 Carbine and 1 AK-47 CIA. Charlie Company had 2 Platoon then conducts a Combat Assault to vicinity of BS735400 which was completed at 1236hrs and found 2 VC KBA by air strike. Charlie Company then conducts a Recon in Force to BS754409 to BS746399 then to BS752388. At 1532hrs Charlie Company at BS746407 found 1 M-16 magazines, 1 flash light and 1 shirt.
Delta Company

Delta Company continued their joint operation with the PRU and their security of Hamlet vicinity BS785428. At 0030hrs Delta Company received automatic weapons fire from north an northeast with no casualties. The joint operation also conducts Condon and Search at BS798421 and BS799428. At 0920hrs Delta Company at 795485 received 5 rounds of small arms fire with negative casualties. Delta Company at 1010hrs at BS815415 detained 3 VCS (1 detained female says her husband is a VC at Tap An Bae #2) and at 1525hrs at BS788425 engaged 1 VC who was evading on a bicycle, results in one VC KIA. At 1940hrs Delta Company at BS788423 received automatic fire from southeast and returned fire. At 2150hrs Delta Company reports their night locations at BS788425, 55 BS790429 and 96 at BS795420.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for 1-20 Infantry.
