July 7, 1969
Battalion Forward: 1-20 Infantry is located at LZ Liz and continued their Mission and working with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0704hrs Command and Control Helicopter is on station tail # 676. At 2100hrs ARVN Intelligence report 7th to the 20th, offensive against US bases in area. At 1035hrs Helix 33 is on station, putting in Air Strike at grid BS847381 and at 1445hrs Helix 33 putting in Air Strike at grid BS847379. At 1655hrs Re Supply Utility tail #471 with blade time 2 hours blade time. At 1715hrs 11th Brigade to 1-20 Infantry two RF Company will be in our Area of Operations from 0600 till 1400hrs 8 July 1969 in block square BS770410, BS790417, BS796403 and BS780396.
Battalion Rear: Battalion Rear continued their Mission for providing general support for the Battalion. At 2326hrs SI-5 has picked up 15 personnel at BS830416, they engaged with Artillery 105mm and 155mm with 25 HE rounds. At 2315hrs LZ Bronco took one round unknown type with negative casualties or damage.
Alpha Company
July 7, 1969
Alpha Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz. At 0830hrs Alpha Company moved out in Recon in Force to BS779457 and at 1005hrs are at BS779459. At 1155hrs Alpha Company is at BS765454 and at 1600hrs has closed back on LZ Liz.
Bravo Company
July 7, 1969
At 0850hrs Bravo Company our Day Logger Position BS732444 with the 44 is moving out on our day Recon in Force with negative results. The then they moved into their Night Defense Position and put out 2 snakes.
Charlie Company
July 7, 1969
Charlie Company 94 Recon in Force to BS843416 and back to Day Logger. At 1800hrs we received 150 rounds of machine gun fire a little while ago from the west, and we have negative casualties, we returned fire with negative results, fire has ceased. At 1835hrs Charlie Company leaving Day Logger for Night Defense Position and at 2000hrs are moving into position at BS828448.
Delta Company
July 7, 1969
At 0815hrs Delta Company all snakes have closed with our location and we are leaving to start our Recon in Force operation. Delta Company reports their locations 94/64/Command Post at BS775475 and the 44/84 Recon in Force to grid BS778478. At 1550hrs Delta Company plans on all elements to close on grid BS778478. At 1405hrs Night Defense Position is BS778469 with snakes 45 at BS778468, the 66 snake BS777470. At 2045hrs Delta Company reports all elements are in their locations.
Echo Company
July 7, 1969
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. At 0645hrs Recon Platoon at BS860370, area where they received the mortars, found the lost M-16. At 1130hrs Recon Platoon has closed on LZ Bronco and took over their Base Defense Mission.
