Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0400hrs 1-20 Infantry reports Radar Targets were at the following times: at 1915hrs 5 to 7 stationary personnel were engaged with 18 HE of 105 at grid BS782404 and at 2110hrs 3 to 5 stationary personnel were engaged with 3 HE of 4.2 Mortar at grid BS739453. At 0130hrs 8 to 10 stationary personnel were not engaged due to the proximity of Alpha Company at grid BS724459. Brigade Intelligence Report: Source G-3: 1. 50 men are located in the vicinity of BS718410 and BS721415 with a mission to attack outposts in the Duc Pho area and liberate refugee camps along Highway 1 in the coming nights. 2. Source 525 M1 GP. An unidentified unit of the 22nd Regiment with field strength, of 180 men is located in the vicinity of BS697450. The CO name is Thoa. They have an unknown amount of 82mm, one 50mm, one light machinegun, 9 heavy machineguns, 3 B41 rockets, have four B40 rockets and unknown amount of individual weapons. There mission is to combine with the C45 and shell Mo Cuc at 730541, Dragon and they plan to attack Dac Day Bridge at 728555. Other targets are at Quang Ngai Hamlet (BS725542), Dong Cat (BS734543) between 2 February and 13 February 70. 3. Source F6. 8th Bn 22nd Regiment strength is 300 with CO by the name of Cyong. They are located at BS720410 and wear ARVN uniforms, with cloth hats, rubber sandals and rucksacks. Their mission is to combine with the local force and attack allied units at BS789415, along Highway 1 to Nouc Man at BS771460 and shell Xuong Rong (mountain) at BS753436 (Liz) between 6 February and 17 February 70. At 1110hrs 1-20 Infantry the Battalion Commanding Officer is leaving LZ Liz and is making a Visual Recon and is to stop at Alpha Company to pick up a Officer. At 1400hrs War Lord Lead, we will be working in the area from area of Tripoli and the Gaza Strip and to the 48 grid line.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco. At 1810hrs 1-20 Infantry to 11Brigade Report on the amount of M60 machineguns in the Battalion. Alpha Company 7, Bravo Company 5, Charlie Company 7, Delta Company 6 and Echo Company 2 for a total of 27.
Alpha Company

At 1058hrs Alpha Company is in their new Day Logger at grid BS732453. At 1425hrs Alpha Company spotted movement in the area of BS725457. We are firing in Artillery and at 1510hrs we have sent the 84 element out to check the area. At 1630hrs Alpha Company is closing on BS732450 and had negative results at BS725457 and at 1700hrs we are in our Night Defense Position at BS734452. At 1815hrs Alpha Company all snakes have moved out. The 04 snake to BS738455, 05 snake to BS734458, 06 to BS745457, the 14 snake to BS722416, 15 snake to BS722421, the 16 to BS721430, the 44 snake to BS725453, 45 to BS729448 and the 46 snake to BS728457. At 2000hrs Alpha Company reports all snakes are now in their locations.
Bravo Company

Bravo Company secured their areas, and began using saturation patrolling in their Area of Operation. At 0555hrs Bravo Company 07 has closed on their semi permanent position and at 0635hrs 16 has closed on BS783433. At 0840hrs Bravo Company the 45 element is at grid BS789427. At 0920hrs Bravo Company the Rangers have closed on BS783433. And at 0942hrs the 16 element has closed on their semi permanent position. At 1150hrs Bravo Company the 46 element has closed on BS789413. At 1545hrs Bravo Company the Ranger element policed up 10 Vietnamese and children at grid BS776437. They will be turned over to the RD Team for relocation. At 1600hrs Bravo Company the 45 and 46 elements have closed on their location. At 1801hrs Bravo Company the 43 snake is at BS792420. At 1840hrs Bravo Company the 19 snake has moved out to BS775447 on clearing patrol. At 1840hrs Bravo Company the 19 snake has moved out to BS775447 on clearing patrol. And at 1910hrs Bravo Company the 46 element is moving to BS792420. At 1925hrs Bravo Company a Vietnamese female came up to the North Bridge and informed the 18 element that there 80 VC at grid BS775484, their mission is unknown. At 2010hrs Bravo Company the Twin Ville reports receiving 2 to 3 rounds of sniper fire from the southwest and returned fire with negative results. At 2045hrs Bravo Company the 19 element has closed on BS776446, the 17 element is moving to BS777452 and the 46 location is at BS792420. At 2125hrs the 45 is at BS782425 and the 46 location is at BS792420.
Charlie Company

At 0707hrs Charlie Company one US suffered a possible broken leg when he jumped into a ditch seeking cover on a false alarm, grid BS729444. He was extracted when hot A-rations were brought in at 0820hrs. The 21 element snake captured 1 NVA with NVA uniform and MVA ID age 21, he was in excellent health and no weapon, grid BS736466. He also was on the extraction of hot A’s. At 1015hrs Charlie Company plans to have ambushes along BS738445, BS728430, BS765375, BS770373, BS774373, BS778374, BS787388 and BS789395. At 1305hrs Charlie Company our Day Logger of the Command Post is at BS753387, the 04, Day Logger is at BS744404 and the 14 Day logger is at BS772372. At 1705hrs Charlie Company we are moving to our Night Defense Position at BS763376. At 1915hrs Charlie Company we are in our Night Defense Position At 0820hrs Charlie Company the 44 element is at grid BS753387. At 0845hrs Charlie Company 14 element has found three tunnels two 70 meters long and one 10 meters long. We request 10 crating charges, 200 feet on detonate cord and 2 engineers to blow the tunnel at BS763378. At 1135hrs Charlie Company 06 element blew a 250pound bomb in place at BS738404. At 1805hrs Charlie Company Command Post found and blew in place, two dud 81mm rounds at grid BS753389. At 1915hrs we are moving to our Night Defense Position at BS753389 and by 1930hrs have moved into it. At 1955hrs Charlie Company reports the following snakes locations 05 at BS729417, 04 at BS732409, 07 at BS740402, 47 at BS758393, 44 at BS753384, 46 at BS758380, the 14 at BS763375, 15 at BS769373 and the 18 snake at BS779373. Charlie Company again using multiple night snakes to cover trails.
Delta Company

Delta Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz. At 0925hrs Delta Company all snakes have closed on LZ Liz. At 1320hrs all bunkers are in good condition and all have plumb bobs, Delta Company inspected by CPT Whitaker. At 1920hrs Delta Company all snakes are in location the 15 at BS742431, 16 at BS763437, 45 at BS766439 and the 06 is at BS771441.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. At 0635hrs 4.2 Platoon reports Observed Mission 1 with a total of 3 HE and 4 Illumination rounds. Echo Company Headquarters has the coordination responsibility for Base Defense. At 0718hrs Recon Platoon reports we are closing on LZ Liz. Recon Platoon continues their Security Mission for LZ Liz.
