Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0005hrs LRRP Nevada at BS666521 observed a mortar firing, no reports of any elements receiving mortar fire, called in Artillery, received one secondary explosion. At 1027hrs Helix 35 at BS783525 put in Air Strike, 5 structures destroyed, uncovered tunnels, helix 35 is in there now. At 1027hrs Helix 35 at BS783525 spotted 15 people in black PJ running out of hut directed in Artillery destroyed one bunker, structure, and uncovered a trench line. At 1935hrs Headquarters 1-20 Infantry at BS7244 observed approximately 50 enemy with packs and weapons 4 on bicycles, all moving from west to east fired 155mm and 81mm. They scattered to BS7245, one was knocked down and didn’t get up and 2 others were knocked down but were able to evac. At 2210hrs 1-20 Infantry LZ Liz 6-10 explosions approximately 400-500 meters east of Liz with no casualties or damage.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco. At 0013hrs Duc Pho LZ Bronco, Bunker on access road received automatic weapon fire, and 4 satchel charges, negative casualties, A, B, and C sectors wee on yellow status, went back to white Status at 0045hrs.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Dragon. At 1027hrs 1-20 Infantry reports SRRP at BS879205 spotted 5-7 VC in back PJs funning out of hut, directed in Artillery destroyed one bunker, structure and uncovered a trench line. At 1400hrs Alpha Company the 51 element is located at BS792485. 1-20 Infantry reports SRRP locations A BS689503 and B BS865294. At 1600hrs Alpha Company has 23 at BS714533 and 44 at BS709524 with 24 at BS729512.
Bravo Company

Bravo Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz with the 26 element at Bridge 124. At 1027hrs 1-20 Infantry reports SRRP at BS879205 spotted 5-7 VC in black PJ’s possible weapons called in Artillery. 1-20 Infantry reports their SRRP locations A BS689503 and B BS865294. At 1735hrs Bravo Company 52 element has a LP at BS762433 and 51 at BS752436.
Charlie Company

Charlie Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Thunder with the 96 element at Bridge 111. At 1027hrs 1-20 Infantry SRRP at BS879205 spotted 5-7 VC in black PJ possibly had weapons called in artillery negative results. 1-20 Infantry reports SRRP locations A BS689503 and B BS865294. At 1940hrs Charlie Company 53 element is at BS798376
Delta Company
February 7, 1969
Delta Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Charlie Brown and provided security for Bridges 95 and 94. At 0805hrs Delta Company were checking out area around bridge and engaged at BS916208 1 VC evading and the results were 1 VC KIA. At 0850hrs requested a Dust Off at BS830223, Priority for VC to 6th Support Battalion at LZ Bronco. At 1027hrs Delta SRRP at BS879305 spotted 5-7 VC in black PJ possibly had weapons, called in artillery, negative results. The 1-20 Infantry reports SRRP locations A BS689503 and D BS865294. At 1555hrs Delta Company at Bridge 94 at BS923214 received 1 mortar round 200 meters north of bridge. At 1940hrs Delta Company 44 on Bridge 95, 43 on Bridge 94 and the 24 element at BS917241. At 2215hrs Delta Company at BS917296 45 element at Bridge # 94 (BS921211) observed 2 VCS evading, fired 81mm mortar with negative assessment.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. At 1600hrs Recon Platoon is located at BS641565. At 1800hrs Recon Platoon at BS640576 observed 6 NVA with packs and pistol belts could not tell if they had weapons, calling artillery. At 1940hrs Recon Platoon location is at BS641656.
