Headquarters and Headquarter Company
August 7, 1969
Battalion Forward: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and continued their working with the ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 2035hrs LZ Liz Bravo Company at Bunker 10 reports tripped flare went off and saw 1-2 individuals, engaged with small arms fire and automatic weapons along with 81mm HE and WP rounds. The Area was checked out by patrol with negative finding.
Battalion Rear: Battalion Rear continued their Mission for providing general support for the Battalion.
Alpha Company
August 7, 1969
Alpha Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz. At 2030hrs Alpha Company has one man hit by friendly fire he has minor wound. He was hit by Defense Target fire round which where fired and 1 round fell short.
Bravo Company
August 7, 1969
Bravo Company location is at Chu Lai for Stand Down.
Charlie Company
August 7, 1969
At 0720hrs Charlie Company our 21 element is moving out to gird BS834405. Our 91 will be going to BS818426, will call when they move. At 1000hrs the 21 element closed back on the Day Logger and the 91 element is now moving out of our Day Logger toward our Night Defense Position. At 1930hrs Charlie Company we are taking some sniper fire from about 300-400 meters to our northeast and we are calling in 81mm and artillery at this time we had negative casualties. At 1935hrs the fire was from a klick away and was not directed at us. At 1938hrs Charlie Company we are in our Night Defense Position at this time at BS823424. The 52 snake at 2105hrs reports they’re in position.
Delta Company

At 0915hrs Delta Company location vicinity of BS738448 52 element And PF have married up together and checking out planned area. SP4 RONALD RENE KIRKPATICK IS LISTED AS KHA, while being evac out of Vietnam and was killed in a rocket attack on his hospital.
Echo Company
August 7, 1969
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. At 0700hrs 4.2 Platoon has a negative report for day. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon will continue their Security Mission for the 1-20 Infantry.
