Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0400hrs Radar sighted at 2030hrs 3 to 5 Stationary personnel at BS772431 with negative clearance and Delta and Bravo Company informed. At 2140hrs 1 to 4 stationary personnel were sighted at BS724419 with negative clearance and 4-3 Infantry informed and at 2350hrs 3 to 5 stationary personnel were sighted at BS808472 and engaged with 7 HE of Artillery 105mm rounds. TMF at 0002hrs sighted 2 to 3 personnel were sighted at BS848404 and engaged with 5 HE rounds of Artillery 105mm. At 0835hrs Helix 33 we are putting in an Air Strike on BS780335. At 0925hrs Helix 33 Bomb Damage Assessment at BS780335 was 1 medium secondary explosion with large ball of fire, 5 sustained fires and 80 meters of trails uncovered. At 0940hrs Brigade LRRP Oregon, call sign of Cherry Buster will be inserted into box BS6930 upper left and BS7227 upper fight to conduct an area Recon. They will also try to make a POW snatch. At 1515hrs all companies have been notified of the suspended ammo lots and number. At 1705hrs Helix 38 we are putting in an Air Strike on BS768357, we have one large tunnel and a number of fires burning, Alpha Company informed. At 2055hrs 1-20 Infantry Alpha Company has 18, Bravo Company has 6, Charlie Company has 8, Delta Company has 8 and Recon has 0 Mechanical Ambushes out. At 2110hrs 11 Brigade DATE/TIME/GRID Effective 080500 April 1970 A Troop 1-1 Calvary is OPCON indefinitely to the 1-20 Infantry.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company continued to use saturation patrolling and using Day Logger position and they conduct their Search and Clear operations in their Area of Operation. At 1920hrs Alpha Company the 43 element spotted 15 to 20 at BS792381 at 1500 meters to the south of our location. They were moving to Duc Pho area and we lost sight of them. At 2000hrs Alpha Company the 63 element is at BS773369, the 41 element is at BS782378, 42 element is at BS789378, the 43 is at BS785375, the 61 element is at BS771360, the 62 element is at BS772368, by 2055hrs Alpha Company had 18 Mechanical Ambush out.
Bravo Company
April 7, 1970
Bravo Company setting up a Day Logger and have the mission for Rice Harvest Security with using patrolling and Day Ambush Position in their Area of Operation. At 0811hrs Bravo Company 45 element picked up one male detainee at BS759455, 25 dressed in orange on blue, no ID will be sent to MACV. At 0850hrs Bravo Company 03 and 04 elements have 17 Vietnamese working with them and the 44, 45 and 64 elements will have 70 Vietnamese working with them. At 0755hrs Bravo Company all elements have closed on BS783433. Bravo Company with the ARVN snakes in location established multiple ambushes and some Mechanical Ambush out.
Charlie Company

Charlie Company we had a Mechanical Ambush go off at our Night Defense Position, checked out the area with negative finding, will check again at 1st light. At 0754hrs all elements closed on their Night Defense Position. At 0850hrs Charlie Company the 01 element pick up 3 detainees, 2males and one female with negative ID at BS738434. The male was about 40, dressed in black on green, one male was about 70 dressed in black on white and the female was about 35 dressed in Red on black. At 0730hrs we are moving form our Day Logger to their Night Defense Position at BS733444. Charlie Company is using Day Ambush and patrolling, with Search and Clear Operations. At 1905hrs Charlie Company at grid BS724431, the 63 element picked up four Vietnamese females, 1 Vietnamese male and 7 to 8 Vietnamese babies, one female did not have a ID. The 63 element also found 500 pound of rice already bagged and ready to be taken and rest of it s in a bin. One female was wearing black pajamas, one female was wearing blue on white, the male had on all white and other female had on Red on Black. At 1910hrs Charlie Company we are in out Night Defense Position at BS724338. At 2030hrs Charlie Company 63 element at BS800408, 06 at BS791439 and 01 at BS734458 with ambushes 03-BS741455, 61-BS728448, 64-BS720438, 65-BS711430, 63-BS736432, 45-BS744434, 44-BS750465 also has 8 Mechanical Ambush out.
Delta Company

Delta Company continued with their Security Mission for LZ Liz. At 0659hrs Delta Company 42 element has closed back on LZ Liz and by 0742hrs all snakes have closed. At 2055hrs Delta Company has 8 Mechanical Ambush out and by 2100hrs the 63 snake at BS763423, the 64 element is roving from BS760433 to BS763423, the 64 element is roving from BS760433 to BS763435 and the 43 element is roving from BS765435 to BS770438.
Echo Company
April 7, 1970
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. At 4.2 Platoon reports Observed Missions 5 and Defense Target with a total expended of 7 HE, 3 WP and 48 Illumination rounds. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. At 0727hrs Recon Platoon all elements have closed on the Day Logger and will move out at 0730hrs. At 1350hrs Recon Platoon the 64 element is leaving the Day Logger to BS817403, the 63 element is leaving the Day Logger for BS802412. The 61 element drew fire (Carbine) from BS813414 and returned fire with negative casualties. The fire came from the south at 300 meters, 4 to 5 rounds were fired. At 1745hrs Recon Platoon we are in our Night Defense Position at BS813414. At 1932hrs Recon Platoon reports all elements are in location snake at BS813427, 63 at BS808424 and the 64 at BS812427.
