Battalion Forward: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and continued their working with the ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0629hrs Command Message passed on to Companies "Be Careful". At 0800hrs Helix 31 FAC is putting in Air Strike at grid BS792481.At 1005hrs 1-20 infantry S-2 we are sending in 5 VCS that where picked up by Recon Platoon and Bravo Company. At 1445hrs E Troop 1 CAV LZ Liz requested Dust Off for 1 US man hit in the head by a 50claiber machine gun. The gun swung around and hit the man they believe he has concussions. At 2355hrs LZ Liz Alpha Company received 1 round of 82mm mortar with negative casualties or damage. 1-20 Infantry reports Companies AJAX Alpha Company 100, Bravo Company 98, Charlie Company 93, Delta Company 96, Recon Platoon 29 and 4.2 Platoon 25.
Battalion Rear: Battalion Rear continued their Mission for providing general support for the Battalion. At 1212hrs Brigade Utility will be from 1530 to 1730hrs on 6 September Command and Control Helicopter will also be released at 1730hrs for a Combat Assault, Bud Pad was informed.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz. At 0600hrs my 67 element is closing on LZ Liz. At 2345hrs Alpha Company at the South OP received one incoming mortar round.
Bravo Company
September 7, 1969
At 0515hrs Bravo Company all elements are moving out for their operation my 67 is moving toward their blocking position and at 0545hrs is all set up in position. At 0627hrs on our operation we spotted some fires and checked it out. There was some rice in the area (seemed to be preparing breakfast) The Recon element took some VC/NVA under fire think they are trying to get out of Cordon area. Bravo Company 91 and Recon platoon with the 91 element got 1 male KIA age 22 to 25 wearing a maroon uniform, no ID, evading at, poncho, and rice he was evading BS772426. We have policed up some documents, a VC songbook, one woman her husband is a member of farmers Association. BS779415, Recon got 1 male KIA, his age 17-18 wearing blue uniform carrying detonator cord, hammock. Also found some VC clothes and 600 pounds of rice, hammock, NVA jacket and bandages. At 0821hrs Bravo Company we have completed out sweep of the area and are heading back to our Night Defense Position to pick up our equipment. At 0850hrs Late Report from Bravo Company when my 92 element got the 1 male KIA at grid BS779425, also had 1 female KIA 18-20 years old, negative ID and she was evading with the male, She was also wearing maroon clothes. At 0858hrs Bravo Company are now back at our Night Defense Position BS787429, 63 and 67 are at the Southern Bridge site. At 1005hrs S-2 will be sending in 5 VCS that was picked up by both the Recon Platoon and Bravo Company 4 females 48, 48, 27, 21 of the Woman Association and 1 male age 51 member of farmers association. At 1025hrs the first Day Logger was no suitable have a new Day Logger at this time. We can accept re supply at anytime BS746454. At 1935hrs the 82 element is moving and rest of Bravo Company is moving to their Night Defense Position at BS783433. At 2250hrs Bravo Company the 63 element has observed approximate 3 personnel 350meters north along Red Ball and approximate 50 meters inside the Ville, one appeared to have a weapon, will continue to observe unless they get closer.
Charlie Company

At 0755hrs Charlie Company are now in their Day Logger BS748456 and 92 element moving out of perimeter. At 0820hrs Charlie Company request a priority Dust Off for 2 Vietnamese females 1 age 21, frag wounds of head and the other frag wounds on the side approximately age 40. Vietnamese said they were hit with artillery last night Dust Off completed at 0834hrs. Charlie Company Day Logger is at BS746454. At 0912hrs Charlie Company, and the Recon Platoon, at grid BS772422, from this grid we will be moving north along the blue. Charlie Company element is at grid BS756457 and at 1030hrs report they are ready to accept resupply. Charlie Company 62 element on their Recon in Force to grid BS755447 and at 1410hrs the 62 element is back at the Day Logger. At 2039hrs Charlie Company now in their Night Defense Position by 2130hrs snakes are in position.
Delta Company

At 1200hrs Delta Company remain in their blocking position. At 2045hrs Delta Company moved into their Night Defense Position at BS732548. Delta Company reports SP4 Ralph W. Butler was evac to the 91st Evac Hospital.
Echo Company
September 6, 1969
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. At 0610hrs 4.2 Platoon reports Schedule Missions 6 total expend 18 HE rounds. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. At 0459hrs Recon Platoon we are now leaving wire at LZ Liz At 0625hrs Recon Platoon reports at BS778427 received small arms fire with negative casualties at this time. At 0630hrs Bravo Company and Recon at BS778426 spotted fires and checked it out, breakfast was being prepare, Recon spotted VC/NVA took under fire with unknown results. At 0710hrs Bravo Company and Recon Platoon vicinity BS779425, report 3 VC KIA, one female VCS, also 600 pound of rice, and clothing which they gave to the RF. At 1005hrs Recon Platoon at BS770430, detained 4 VCS 1 male and 3 VCS females, the male was a member of the Farmers Association and the women were members of the Women Association. The 1 male VCS his name is on the black list, age 61. At 1012hrs Recon is located at grid BS772433, from this grid we, will be moving north along the blue. At 1025hrs Recon Platoon has closed on LZ Liz. At 1600hrs Recon Platoon reports their location at LZ Bronco.
