Headquarters and Headquarter Company

Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Thunder and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0740hrs Military Police have a convoy coming in from Quin Nhon carrying class 5 supplies request 2 APC convoy should arrive at the bottom of our Area of Operation between 1030hrs and 1100hrs. The (1-20 Infantry TOC) alerted Troop E to come up on Military Police frequency to coordinate. At 1002hrs 1-20 Infantry at BS917263 snatched 2 VCS man, ages 22 to 24 and will evac to LZ Bronco for questioning. At 1050hrs Delta Company 19 Engineers at BS917245, the mine sweep team found a pressure type mine with approximately 40 pounds of charge. The Charge was in a 50 caliber ammo can. Mine was disarmed and taken to their Command Post. At 1945hrs Bravo Company 19 engineer received 30 to 40 automatic weapons rounds at fill pit negative casualties. At 2015hrs 1-20 Infantry on bridge 104 observed light near lake in the tree line return fire with 50 caliber negative assessment. At 2015hrs 1-20 Infantry TOC observed 2 helicopters being fired upon also OP observed moving light at BS767450, engaged with 81mm and artillery, also observed 2-3 moving lights outside perimeter, engaged with 81mm and mortars. At 2100hrs 1-20 Infantry TOC in reference to 2005hrs report after firing 81mm on that grid used search light at LZ Liz, and believed to have 1 VC KIA, unable to check until daylight.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz and at 1200hrs 10 is at BS760413 and 20 at BS782429. At 1800hrs Alpha Company is at LZ Liz with ambushes at A 11 at BS743463, A 12 at BS745418 and A 13 at BS753413. At 2140hrs Alpha Company Village all lit up, appears to be a celebration of type, request clearance to engage with artillery. ANSWER, Negative unless hostile act is being committed against friendly forces and with clearance from MACV.
Bravo Company

At 0820hrs Bravo Company Continued their Security Mission for LZ Dragon, and at 0840hrs found 1 home made booby trap made out of C Ration can was rigged with a smoke grenade type fuse, had string tied to a branch destroyed in place. Also found a building that is possible used as a VC school house, had pictures of APC, soldier, weapon and a 11th Brigade drawn on the wall, building located at grad BS693538. At 1310hrs Bravo Company at BS694541 received 2 round small arms fire negative casualties also found a B/B mine and destroyed in place. At 1325hrs Bravo Company at BS694541, 1 US stepped on a mine, results 1 US KHA and 1 WHA being evac by Command and Control Helicopter. At 1400hrs Bravo 20 at BS680527 and by 1800hrs Bravo Company at LZ Dragon with 31 BS757557 and 32 at BS761548. PFC BRADLEY ANDREW SAINT CLAIR LISTED AS KHA. PFC Terry D. Hasty awarded Purple Heart.
Charlie Company

At 0820hrs Charlie Company at LZ Thunder, LRRP Niagra and Ohio are preparing for extraction. At 1200hrs Charlie 20 is moving to LZ Charlie Brown. At 1800hrs Charlie Company 10, 30 at LZ Thunder and 20 is at Charlie Brown to take over the Security Mission, the 14 element is at Bridge 111.
Delta Company

Delta Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Charlie Brown, at 0820hrs LRRP Niagra and Ohio are preparing for extraction. At 1002hrs 1-20 TOC at 917263 snatched 2 VCS men, ages 22 to 24 will evac to LZ Bronco for questioning. At 1400hrs Delta Company at BS917227, 10, Command Post at BS917227 and by 1800hrs Delta Company 10, 30 and Command Post at BS997232, 20 BS893254, 22 at BS893251 and 25 at BS891244.
Echo Company
September 6, 1968
Echo Company is located at LZ Thunder where Battalion Forward is and coordinates with the Battalion Rear Elements and Base Defense elements on LZ Thunder. The 4.2 Platoon is located on LZ Thunder where they will continue to provide direct fire support for the (1-20 Infantry Battalion). Recon Platoon continued to prepare for Operation at LZ Bronco.
