Headquarters and Headquarter Company

Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0755hrs LZ Liz Access Road has been mine swept. At 0912hrs Alpha Company convoy left Chu Lai with 6 2 ½ and 2 ¼ for LZ Liz. At 2025hrs 1-20 Infantry Warlord Blue into box 64 and at 2125hrs out of box with negative results, going to Chu Lai for fuel. At 2315hrs LZ Liz at 2315hrs had a preplanned practice Alert 100% was achieved at 2318hrs. At 2320hrs a ceased-fire was called. At 2330hrs Alert was over, Alert classified as completely satisfactory in all respects. At 2322hrs Charlie Battery 1-20 Artillery 155 requested 1 Urgent Dust for 1 US with gunshot wound to chest as a result of practice Alert on LZ Liz., caused by stray or ricochet round. Dust Off Bird #88 completed at 2346hrs Patient taken to Chu Lai E-5 Hendricks #H4735. At 2357hrs LT Waugh inspected bunkers 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 for Alpha Company all where satisfactory. Legend: 1st Platoon 81, 2nd Platoon 83, 3rd Platoon 59, 4th Platoon 88, CO-50.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for Chu Lai.
Alpha Company

At 0912hrs Alpha Company convoy left Chu Lai with 6 2 ½ and 2 ¼ ton. Alpha Company is on LZ Liz and taken over the Security Mission for LZ Liz. At 2357hrs LT Waugh inspected for Alpha Company all satisfactory.
Bravo Company
July 6, 1971
Bravo Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz and Access Road Security. At 1350hrs Bravo Company 1st Platoon using Patrol Bases and multiple patrolling in their Area of Operation. At 2015hrs Bravo Company Night Defense Position locations are 1st Platoon at BS672415 and 2nd Platoon with Command Post at BS664525.
Charlie Company
July 6, 1971
At 1005hrs Charlie Company is at LZ Dragon Airstrip at this time and at 1241hrs Charlie Company 2nd Platoon moving out to LZ Snoopy and the moving to Chu Lai to prepare for their Stand Down.
Delta Company
July 6, 1971
Delta Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz. At 2050hrs Delta Company all access road snakes are in Location.
Echo Company
July 6, 1971
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2Platoon providing direct fire supports for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the Responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon returned from their Stand Down and continued their Security Mission for 1-20 Infantry.
