Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 1015hrs LZ Liz Headquarters and Headquarters Company we request a routine Dust Off for 1 US with stomach cramps, diarrhea, back pains and vomiting, it will be litter Name SP4 Jones (Commo, I believe it was James Jones). At 0950hrs Alpha Company reports LZ in completed no longer OPCON return to 1-20 infantry Control. At 1745hrs S-5 Report, Negative report due to commo problems with Division on leaflet and early word. At 2130hrs M26 at 061845 M26 and RF 468 at grid BS753550 found a tunnel in which was found 2 60mm rounds.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company
July 6, 1970
At 0950hrs Alpha Company LZ from BS506432 to BS748328 is completed with the OPCON to 4-3 Infantry no longer in effect returned to 1-20 Infantry control. At 1035hrs Alpha Company 34 element is moving to BS760380 to recheck intelligence, which was checked this morning and by 1605hrs reports negative finding. At 1035hrs as Alpha Company 14 and 54 elements are moving out and Rules of Engagement have been reviewed. At 1930hrs Alpha Company moves into their Night Defense Position at BS756392 and snakes are moving out.
Bravo Company
July 6, 1970
Bravo Company continued their joint Operations with PF and RF units on their Hamlet Pacification and security of Highway 1. At 0617hrs Bravo Company the 17 element is at checkpoint 2 at BS718620 and the 56 element is at BS735655, their Day Logger. At 0730hrs Bravo Company we request a routine Dusted Off for 1 Vietnamese female and 1 Vietnamese female and 1 Vietnamese child. The female has a wound to the lower leg and the child has a wound to the thigh. The wounds were received when the Bravo Company 34 element was conducting H & I firing with M79 last night at their perimeter. The female has an ID, is 51 years old with the child 11 years old no ID completed at 0836hrs at grid BS712584. At 0820hrs Bravo Company the 182 PF Platoon at BS757578 received sniper fire from 3 to 4 persons from BS473583 and BS755583. The Bravo Company 38 element is moving up to assist the PF and took sniper fire. One WP and 1 HE of 105 Artillery were fired but no additional rounds were fired due to proximity of a no fire zone where they wanted the rounds. There was no casualty, damage or finding in sweeping the area. The Vietnamese people said there was 3 VC in area evaded to the northwest and checking area further. At 0933hrs Bravo Company the 14, 54, 34, 16, 59, 17 and the 56 elements have closed and the 38 element is in a Day Logger at BS765578. At 2015hrs Bravo Company 16 element snake has been canceled due to commo problems and the 17 element is at BS716633.
Charlie Company
July 6, 1970
At 0812hrs Charlie Company the 37 and 36 elements have closed with all other elements moving. At 0845hrs Charlie Company the 17 and 18 elements have closed and Charlie Company is in the Day Logger at BS781453. At 1910hrs Charlie Company is moving to their Night Defense Position and closed at 1932hrs at BS779663. At 1947hrs Charlie Company 16 is moving to BS689696, the 17 element is moving to BS716633 and the 36 element is moving to BS716488. Charlie Company is using multiple patrolling in their Area of Operation today.
Delta Company

Delta Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz. At 2050hrs Delta Company all access road snakes are in Location.
Echo Company
July 6, 1970
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. At 0530hrs 4.2 Platoon reports Fire Mission 3 for a total expended of 16 HE and 5 Illumination rounds. Echo Company Headquarters has the coordination responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for the 1-20 Infantry. At 1910hrs Recon Platoon we are moving off LZ Liz. At 2005hrs Recon Platoon our snake are in location the 21 element is at BS753443, the 22 snake is at BS742449 and the 23 element is at BS760454.
