Battalion Forward: 1-20 Infantry is located at LZ Liz and continued their Mission and working with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 1105hrs Command and Control Helicopter at BS823432 found 5 Bunkers covered with mesh, also some fresh spider holes.
Battalion Rear: Battalion Rear continued their Mission for providing general support for the Battalion. At 0605hrs Charlie Company 19 Engineer at 910161, north Mine Sweep found 1 40mm round of foreign made on access road, attempted to blow round 2 times, second time the round split, and round was returned to Command Post for further investigation. At 1805hrs 19 Engineer at BS920220 detained 3 VCS coming out of Ville, were taken to Low Boy for questioning. At 1320hrs Delta Company 19 Engineer at BS814345 EM hit 105mm booby trap resulting in 1 US KIA. At 1940hrs Convoy at BS821347 received sniper fire AK type with negative casualties or damage.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz with security of bridge.
Bravo Company
July 6, 1969
At 0450hrs Bravo Company 64 and 94 elements are moving out to their blocking force position and at 0645hrs while going into Ville at daybreak got 1 VCS male age 23 old, with no ID card. At daybreak two people evaded results 1 KIA, women 21-23 years old. At 0955hrs Bravo Company at BS745445, have 3 VCS, 1 male age 23, negative ID, 1 female age 23 no papers who so ever, and 1 female age 14 to 17(she was a member of Women association.) She known the names of leader of the Youth Association and also she said 3 VC came into the hamlet last night, stayed for 15 minutes and left. Bravo Company reports their Night Defense Position is at BS741445 with snakes at BS741452, and BS745443.
Charlie Company
July 6, 1969
At 0840hrs Charlie Company the 44 element moving out at this time a Recon in force patrol to grid BS819421, and the 64 element Recon in Force to grid BS838422. At 0855hrs Charlie Company 44 element at BS823433 found trench line 100 meters long, running east to west, and the west end of trench new dug spider holes and bunker, at east end newly dug spider holes and foxholes. At 2000hrs Charlie Company moved in their Night Defense Position BS837428, snakes will be the 97 at grid BS839421, and the 46 element at BS832431, snakes in position at 2115hrs.
Delta Company
July 6, 1969
At 0600hrs Delta Company all snakes closed Night Defense Position and moving to Day Logger Position at BS758478. At 1235hrs Delta Company will Recon in Force to grid square, (BS7847) and plan on Night Defense Position to be around BS775474. At 2100hrs Delta Company moved into their Night Defense Position. At 2100hrs Delta Company we received sniper fire from our northeast, called in a fire mission at grid BS775474. At 2148hrs Delta Company 45 snake is out also have 2 VC suspects that we could like to get out for interrogation by Command and Control Helicopter in the morning. Our interpreter said that one of the Suspects has a son (12 years old) that is a VC and carries hand grenades. Interpreter thinks he has more information. They were picked up in general area where we are now.
Echo Company
July 6, 1969
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. At 0615hrs Recon Platoon moving out of their snake position and making a sweep east. Recon at 0810hrs Recon reports their location at BS857373. At 0940hrs Recon Platoon vicinity BS860370 where they where checking out the burning bunker spotted by Warlords, detained 3 males and 1 female VCS, the female had 2600 P on her. They will be evac to LZ Bronco, continued to check the area at 1600hrs Recon Platoon is still working the area. At 2015hrs Recon at BS860370 took 10 rounds of Unknown type mortar, results 1 US WIA (M) with lost M-16 rifle. At 2040hrs Recon Platoon reports their location at BS861368 and by 2105hrs report their Platoon snake position at BS864373.
