Headquarters and Headquarter Company

Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0945hrs 1-20 Infantry at BS701421 observed 6 VC in open, black PJ 3 packs, Command and Control Helicopter Brigade put in fire, received fire, Command and Control Helicopter Battalion with Sharks spotted 4 female VC Cho Hoi (5 Cho Hoi picked up) Alpha Company will sweep the area. At 1110hrs 1-20 Infantry kids crossing wire, Artillery Charlie Battery 1-82 Artillery fired M-79 round overhead, round fell short, 2 Vietnamese children injured, Dust Off complete 1105hrs to the 6th Support Battalion, Division Artillery has investigation in progress.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco. PFC was evac to the 312th Evac Hospital at 1200hrs with gunshot wounds left hand.
Alpha Company
January 6, 1969
At 1040hrs Alpha Company is located in the Vicinity BS715418. At 1400hrs Alpha Company at BS698428 finish sweeping of SRRP contact this morning found supplies, rice, fish, cooking oil and at 1445hrs Alpha Company at BS703428. At 1635hrs Alpha Company vicinity BS731465 received sniper fire, results were one WHA and one VC KIA with one AK 47. CPT David W. Walsh was WHA on this day was grazed in the neck by an AK 47 rounds, one AK 47 CIA captured SN 11043850.
Bravo Company

At 0710hrs Bravo Company at BS782466 detained 1 VC suspect for questioning. At 0850hrs Bravo Company detained 8 VC suspects for questioning. At 1040hrs Bravo Company is located in the vicinity of BS780468. At grid BS703428 Bravo Company is closing on LZ Liz. Bravo Company is taking over the Security Mission for LZ Liz. At 1725hrs 1-20 Infantry reports that their SRRP are in the following positions A at BS705500 and C at BS865294.
Charlie Company

Charlie Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz with the 31 and 81 elements moving out to BS754413 and at 1445hrs the 31 element is at BS748389 with the 81 element at BS755414. At 1830hrs Charlie Company on LZ Liz with 31 element snake is at BS742393.
Delta Company
January 6, 1969
Delta Company working out of LZ Dragon with multiple patrolling with the 41 element is moving out to BS755535. At 1445hrs Delta Company two elements patrolling off of Dragon are at 41 at BS753542, and 81 at BS725548.
Echo Company
January 6, 1969
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. At 1030hrs Recon Platoon reports their location at BS764417 and then at 1425hrs Recon Platoon has moved their location to grid BS759415.
