Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0244hrs Saber Black is on station working Box 60 and broke station with negative findings at 0244hrs. At 0730hrs S-4 Hornet 15638 is on station for re supply. At 1210hrs Boxcar is on station for Sorties and broke station at 1255hrs. At 1530hrs S-4 Hornet 9 is on station for re supply. At 1535hrs Primo 5 is on station for Command and Control Helicopter. At 1625hrs S-4 Hornet 9 is breading station. At 1655hrs Primo 5 is breaking station. Legend: 1st Platoon 54-59, 2nd Platoon 64-99, 3rd Platoon 04-09, 4th Platoon 34-39, CO-21.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company

At 0330hrs Alpha Company 1st Platoon ambush vicinity had a Mechanical Ambush detonate, checked area with negative finding at first Light negative finding. Alpha Company set up Patrol Bases and used saturation patrolling in their Area of Operation. At 0830hrs Alpha Company 1st Platoon in Patrol base at BS728461, BS733465 with 2nd Platoon to BS717415, BS724413, BS717415, 3rd Platoon at BS724426 and the Command Post with 3rd and 4th Platoon at BS723437. At 0925hrs Alpha Company vicinity BS723424, while checking out where the trip flare went off last night, found 5-7 sandal prints head toward the south and 1 Vietnamese poncho, continued a further check of the area with negative findings. At 1115hrs Alpha Company Command Post 1st Platoon picked up to move to OP Wink, and 2nd Platoon moving out to check BS730423 and BS740430. Alpha Company 1st Platoon moving for movement to LZ Dragon. Alpha Company 3rd Platoon patrol reached objective and searching vicinity BS729478. At 1515hrs Alpha Company 2nd Platoon vicinity BS723418, found a ditch approximately 3’ deep and 100’ length and it show signs of recent use. In the area they found 1 NVA Canteen and 1 AK round and we called an Artillery Fire Mission to destroy it. At 1825hrs Alpha Company Command Post 3rd and 4th Platoon Night Defense Position BS711435, 3rd Platoon ambush BS706431, BS707432, 2nd Platoon ambush BS716428.
Bravo Company

Bravo Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz. The S-5 reports at 1145hrs vicinity BS789417 and BS787422, the 1-20 Infantry Medical Platoon has conducted Med-Cap and treated 187 civilians for various minor ailments. Security was provided by Bravo Company elements and Vietnamese medical assisted medical Platoon with Observers MACV Civil Affairs Office, and 1-20 Infantry Chaplain.
Charlie Company

At 0725hrs Charlie Company vicinity BS673572 are request routine Dust Off for 3 RF injured last nights Mortar attack all have minor wounds and Dust Off completed at 0745hrs. At 0830hrs Charlie Company is at BS673572 OP Wood stock, checking out area of mortar attack found signs of 6 82mm rounds craters along with 60mm mortar craters. At 1150hrs Charlie Company searching the area where trip flare went off last night 3rd Platoon found 1 (155) booby trap with pressure type firing device and blown in place. At 1850hrs Charlie Company 3rd Platoon is moving out for BS709559. At 1958hrs 3rd Platoon reports their ambush in location at BS709559 and BS704555. At 2147hrs Charlie Company their RF 460 from OP Wink while on patrol found area of 8 VC/NVA were seriously wounded, found blood in area and also a mat with blood stains. Charlie Company believes this was a result of actions taken on 2 and 3 February 1971.
Delta Company

Delta Company is location on LZ Liz and has taken over the Security Mission for LZ Liz and Road Security.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for 1-20 Infantry. At 1730hrs Recon Platoon reports their Night Defense Position at BS663585 and closed on that location at 1930hrs.
