Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0700hrs LRRP Nevada has a negative situation report. At 0725hrs 39th Engineers while on a mine sweep of Highway 1 we found a NVA flag flying in a Ville by the North Bridge (BS771461), we are checking it out. Brigade requested the flag be sent to LZ Bronco (Brigade Headquarters). The flag was removed while the engineers moved through the Ville and the personnel with the flag where evac. At 0820hrs Brigade LRRP we have a negative situation report at grid BS673449 and will move to the east in 10 minutes. At 0910hrs Brigade the 26th Engineer chopper spotted one body and requests 1-20 Infantry to check it out grid BS792412, could be in the area as the sharks kill yesterday. At 1400hrs Brigade LRRP we requested extraction from grid BS682455 we have 1 Vietnamese with high fever and 1 US who has an infected hand, Extraction completed at 1425hrs. At 1951hrs 11 Brigade reports highway 1 will be closed from dawn to dark on 7 February 1970 from LZ Charlie Brown to the south. At 2200hrs Radar sighted 4-5 personnel moving north at grid BS743432, engaged them with 81mm mortar 14 HE and 3 Illumination rounds.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company again we were using Day ambushes and saturation patrolling in our Area of Operations. At 0716hrs Alpha Company the 04 and 05 elements have closed on BS738448. At 0726hrs Alpha Company the 15 and 16 elements have closed on BS738448. The 14 element has checked out grid BS736436 with negative results. At 0800hrs all snakes have closed on BS738448. At 0916hrs Alpha Company we are in our Day Logger at BS737458. At 1801hrs the 04 snake is at BS731455, 05 at BS734461 and the 16 snake at BS738455. At 1058hrs Alpha Company our new Day Logger is at grid BS732453. At 1835hrs Alpha Company the 14 element is moving to BS746465, the 15 element to BS745458, 16 at BS752464, 44 at BS726437 and 45 at BS727429 and the 46 element is at BS726437. At 1945hrs Alpha Company all the snakes are in their location along with 04 at BS731455, 05 at BS734461 and 06 at BS738455.
Bravo Company

At 0640hrs Bravo Company the 19 element has started closing on BS783433. At 0740hrs Bravo Company the 08 element will move out to grid BS775431 to check out the area of the wounded civilians at 0830hrs. At 0835hrs Bravo Company the 08 element is moving to BS775431. At 1850hrs Bravo Company at grid BS794380 the 48 element reports the Duc Pho Compound received friendly fire from approximately 150 to 200 meters from their location. One PF was running for cover and tripped one of his own booby traps resulting in one PF KIA. At 0855hrs Bravo Company was informed to control indiscriminate use of small arms fire, by wearing steel helmets and flak jackets year casualties, will be reduced. At 0940hrs Bravo Company the 05 snake is at BS787437 and the 07 snake is at BS788431. At 2033hrs Bravo Company the 18 and 782 RF Company on the North Bridge received 4 to 6 rounds of small arms fire from their west and we are putting Artillery on the suspected enemy location with negative casualties. At 2052hrs Bravo Company the 16 element is at BS784445. At 2154hrs Bravo Company the 15 element has closed on BS783438.
Charlie Company

At 1008hrs Charlie Company reports 45 is at grid BS760388 and the 47 element is at grid BS750396. At 1800hrs our 05 element is at BS742402. At 1920hrs Charlie Company we are moving to BS753389. At 1950hrs we are at our Night Defense Position at BS753389. Charlie Company Night locations are at 04-BS738404, 07-BS735407, 05-BS741401, 14-BS763378, 16-BS769373, 18-BS772375, 44-BS757382, 45-BS750386, 47-BS746393 and 06-BS737458.
Delta Company

Delta Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz. At 1030hrs Delta Company all elements have closed, we have a Bunker line patrol going out. At 1310hrs 1-20 Infantry all bunkers are in good condition and all have plumb bobs, Delta Company inspected by CPT Whitaker. At 1923hrs Delta Company reports all snakes are in location with 45 at BS760445, 47 at BS761436, 06 at BS766413 and the 16 snake is at BS772439.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. At 0624hrs 4.2 Platoon report Observed Missions 4 and Defense Targets 2 for a total of 20 HE, 3 WP and 56 Illumination rounds. Echo Company Headquarters has the coordination responsibility for Base Defense. At 1415hrs Recon reports our snake location are at Will Scarlet is at BS765410, Robin Hood at BS770413 and Long John at BS769404. At 1542hrs 11 Brigade to 1-20 Infantry have one of your elements check out the napalm on the hill at BS758403 today or tomorrow. At 1802hrs Recon Platoon will conduct Combat Assault from BS835405 from BS765406 and BS768409, 1st PZ 1802hrs, 1st LZ at 1810hrs and 2nd PZ at 1815hrs and 2nd LZ at 1819hrs. At 1925hrs Recon All elements are in location Robin Hood is at BS771413, Will Scarlet is at BS765410 and Little John is at BS769404.
