Battalion Forward: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and continued their working with the ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 1303hrs Helix 38 FAC we are putting in an Air Strike at grid at BS795458. At 1815hrs 1-20 Infantry from Brigade TOC the rules of engagement have been complied, with by all units. At 2145hrs MACV friendly locations are in location and the Bravo Company is notified of the locations.
Battalion Rear: Battalion Rear continued their Mission for providing general support for the Battalion. At 1730hrs 57 Transportation Battalion LT Nelson S-3 at BS758489 reports at 1620hrs Convoy received light sniper fire at above time and grid on way to Duc Pho inform Convoy Control. At 1730 39 Engineer at BS677778 detained 1 Vietnam boy wounded evac to LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company

At 0618hrs Alpha Company 14 element closed on LZ Liz. At 1620hrs a convoy truck turned over with water bilvets on it the truck with water bilvets on it and the driver was OK. At 1645hrs Alpha Company and Bravo Company we picked up a Chieu Hoi at BS775425, Battalion Commander, MACV advisor 1 squad from Alpha Company and 1 squad from Bravo Company were all involved. The Chieu Hoi is now at Bravo Company. At 1815hrs 1-20 TOC: The rules of engagement, been accompanied by all units. Reference HQ 11th Infantry Brigade dated 1 July 1969. At 1902hrs Alpha Company reports the 36 snake is at BS760407, 15 at BS774442, 35 at BS769439 and the 74 is at BS763437. Alpha Company will continue with their Security Mission for LZ Liz.
Bravo Company

Bravo Company conducts with the Vietnamese patrolling, Condon and Search, sweep and clear operation in their Area of Operation. At 0210hrs Bravo Company the 75 element reports 10-15 rounds incoming small arms fire. We are using 81mm mortar counter fire with 14 rounds form the grid BS793429. At 0624hrs Bravo Company the 76 element has closed on the South Bridge. At 0655hrs Bravo Company the 14 element has closed on BS783433 and the 15 element is closing on BS783433. At 0803hrs Bravo Company Late Report: At 2330hrs last night we found a home-made bomb, next to our Medic’s hootch. It was inside a gallon can and was made of composition B and shrapnel and the trigger, was two blasting caps. One of these caps detonated but the bomb did not go off. At 0835hrs Bravo Company the 16 element is moving to BS793430 on their patrol. At 0900hrs the 16 element is at checkpoint 1 at BS793430. Bravo Company we have the Vietnamese cutting bamboo at BS763448 and the Rangers are moving out. At 0956hrs Bravo Company the 35 element is moving to BS778451. At 1004hrs Bravo Company Gorilla Team is move to BS788435. At 1020hrs Bravo Company the 16 element is at checkpoint 4 at BS806436. At 1025hrs Bravo Company the Gorilla element is at checkpoint 2 at BS793436. At 1050hrs Bravo Company the 16 element has linked up with the Gorilla element and the Rangers have closed on BS783433. The 35 element is moving back to the Twin Villes by 1245hrs Bravo Company the 16 element and 35 elements have closed on BS833458. At 1356hrs Bravo Company the Gorilla element has closed on BS783483. At 1603hrs Bravo Company our 13 element is moving out. At 1605hrs Bravo Company we are now in blocking position and are blocking position on highway 1. At 1645hrs Alpha Company and Bravo Company we picked up a Chieu Hoi at BS775425. Battalion Command, MACV Advisor, 1 squad from Alpha Company and 1 squad from Bravo Company were all involved. The Chieu Hoi is now at Bravo Company. At 1735hrs Bravo Company 13 element has closed on BS783433. At 1900hrs Bravo Company the 34 element is at BS777460 and the 16 element is at is at BS780432. At 1925hrs Bravo Company the 76 element is in location at grid BS788415. At 1926hrs Bravo Company the PF was informed and pass it on to the, (32 element) leader, that there are 10-15 VC at BS766449. Also at grid BS784452 there are suppose to be 100 VC. At 2200hrs Bravo Company our 24 element has spotted movement about 50 meters to the front and we opened fire and they have evaded west to a tree line. We are cranking up the 81mm for grid BS776434, with negative results. We think they are in a Ville at the above grid. At 2330hrs Bravo company at BS783433 found 4-5 pounds C-4 on ground in a gal can C-4 was destroyed.
Charlie Company

Charlie Company is working the Gaza Strip again today and security for M-Boats engineers, checking out intelligence reports and sweeping the area of contact or interest. At 0700hrs Charlie Company the 36 element has moved into our perimeter and the 12 element is staying out for further investigation. At 0701hrs Flame 1 (tracks) are leaving the perimeter to check out the spot where they encountered the 10 people last night. At 0845hrs Charlie Company we have 4 M-Boats sitting at grid BS8544 on the South China Sea. At 0852hrs Charlie 32 is moving to BS820418. At 0930hrs Charlie Company the location for the 12 element is at BS806444, this is our Day Logger. At 1559hrs Charlie Company 32 will be working in the general area of BS818421. At 1625hrs Charlie 72 is moving to replace the 75 element. At 1740hrs Charlie Company the 32 element has found 2 tunnels and 3 fighting positions and blew them in place. It looked big enough for 3 people. At 1908hrs Charlie Company reports the 14 snake is at BS828435, the 32 snake at BS818424 and the 76 snake is at BS835405.
Delta Company

Delta Company 34 and 74 elements have closed on BS733447. At 0827hrs Delta Company the 32 element is moving to BS741450, 72 is moving to BS725440, the 12 elements southwest and 42 elements to moving out to BS733447. Delta Company at 1005hrs we reached our Day Logger and 32 elements are located at BS751450 and sweep north. The 72 elements are at BS733442 and 12 elements are at BS737451. At 1920hrs the 74 elements ambush is in locations at BS730443. The 33 elements ambush is at BS733447 and is securing the back haul. Delta Company 34 element is location at about 150 meters straight south of their preplanned location at BS722448. Delta Company was working the area around LZ Liz and is now working west by southwest from LZ Liz.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. At 0553hrs 4.2 Platoon reports Defense Targets 4 Supporting Missions 11, Observed Missions 2, Unobserved Mission 3 with total expend 54 HE 7 WP and Illumination 53 rounds. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. At 0826hrs Recon Platoon is leaving LZ Liz to go to grid BS765445 and at 1515hrs Recon Platoon is heading back to LZ Liz.
