Headquarters and Headquarter Company

Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Thunder and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0855hrs Delta Company 19th Engineer at BS786423, found a mine with wires leading to a rice paddy dike on the eastern side of road. The charge was approximately 10 pounds, blew in place. The PF pointed out the location of the mine. At 1005hrs A Vietnamese vehicle hit a pressure type mine estimated to be 25 pounds type of chare and firing device unknown, 1 US KHA as he was standing near by vicinity BS724572 the KHA was from 630 Engineer attached to Charlie Company 39 Engineer (SP5 MARCUS PETER ANDERSON IS LISTED AS KHA).
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company will continue their Security Mission for LZ Thunder.
Bravo Company
August 6, 1968
At 0710hrs Bravo Company at BS560394 engaged 1 VC evading results 1 VC KIA 1 M-1 carbine #4801119 CIA. The VC was dressed in black shirt and pants, carrying a pack with a US mosquito head net and VC hammock inside, no documents. Also engaged another VC with out weapon believed to have wounded him, have not been able to locate him as yet. At 1745hrs Bravo Company reports they are still working in the BA TO Area of Operation.
Charlie Company

At 0801hrs Charlie Company is located at BS823403. At 1250hrs Charlie Company is now at BS857376 and continued their Search and Destroy operations in their Area of Operation. At 1745hrs Charlie Company is moving in to their Night Defense Position at BS843373 with ambushes at BS856380, BS854364. SGT EDWARD GLEN BAKER LISTED AS KHA (Died of wounds sees August 5, 1968).
Delta Company
August 6, 1968
Delta Company will continue there Security Mission, for LZ Charlie Brown and at 0935hrs will blow the Artillery105mm round found last night in place. At 1745hrs Delta Company is at LZ Charlie Brown with ambushes at BS909196, BS826176, BS720165, BS732221, BS938222, and BS897232 with 33 on Bridge 94.
Echo Company
August 6, 1968
Echo Company is located at LZ Thunder where Battalion Forward is and coordinates with the Battalion Rear Elements and Base Defense elements on LZ Thunder. The 4.2 Platoon is located on LZ Thunder where they continue to provide direct fire support for the (1-20 Light Infantry Battalion). At 1745hrs Recon Platoon continued their refitting on LZ Bronco.
