Battalion Forward 1-20 Infantry Battalion Headquarters is located at LZ Liz as they continued their Mission working with the ARVN units in their Duc Pho Area of Operations.
Battalion Rear: Battalion Rear continued to carry out their Mission of general support for the Battalion. At 0035hrs MACV Duc Pho received 10 60mm mortar round with 1 round hitting MACV Command Post, results 2 US WIA (M) and 3PF WIA (M) and 2 civilians WIA (M) engaged suspected mortar sight with mortar fire, with unknown results.
Alpha Company
June 5, 1969
At 0740hrs Alpha Company at BS778384, found a small amount of equipment, 1 Hand grenade, 1 Khaki Uniform, 1 green NVA uniform, 1 air mattress, 1 portable radio civilian, 1 shaving kit and some documents, will be taken back to LIZ. At 1000hrs Alpha Company at BS775402, 1 female VCS CIA, 30, no ID, and they set up their Day Logger position evac VCS to LZ Liz. At 1815hrs Alpha Company moved to BS768402 and at 1927hrs Alpha Company hit a booby trap hand grenade, has 2 US WHA (E) and they where evac, Alpha Company reports that PFC Harold Guderundzson and PFC Donald A. Bradley where evac to the 27th Surgical Hospital.
Bravo Company
June 5, 1969
Bravo Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz and conducts 1 Platoon Recon in Force to BS7377428, BS728427 and BS728435 and then returns to LZ Liz. Bravo Company has 41 at south OP and 45 at north OP.
Charlie Company
June 5, 1969
Charlie Company conducts a Recon in force to BS800426 and by 1000hrs it is located at BS805438 and at 1630hrs Charlie Company while receiving re supply received a couple of sniper rounds from northwest negative casualties or damage at grid BS805438.
Delta Company
June 5, 1969
At 1000hrs Delta Company BS754406 conducts Recon in Force vicinity BS752408, BS753404, BS755408, and BS755401. Delta Company at 1900hrs at BS752403 engaged 5 NVA and the result one NVA KIA with 2 rucksacks with 4 NVA uniforms and 2 first aid packets along with 200 rounds M-16 ammo . They continued to Search and Clear operation in their Area of Operation. Delta Company is located at BS744400 and has established their Night Defense Position.
Echo Company
June 5, 1969
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon is moved to Chu Lai for Stand Down.
