Headquarters and Headquarter Company

Forward Area 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Ross for Operation WHEELER-WALLOWA and are OPCON to the 196th Light Infantry Brigade.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco. E Troop 0845hrs at BS747510, an APC helping Bravo Company 19th Engineer on mine sweep had hit command detonated under it resulting in 3 WHA, APC was turned bottom side up, (Changed to 5 WHA 4 EVAC) The APC had 6 road wheels blown off, track broken, a hole in bottom and APC turned bottom side up. The mine was buried deep enough so the mine sweep team as passed over mine it was blown. The engineers will move APC to Bronco on Low Boy today the road is passable where mine exploded. The WHA were Jaeger, Terry E-4 head wounds and possible fracture shoulder, Lamziner, E., E-4 frag wounds in temple possible fracture left arm and Pugsley, Aron E-5 multiple frag wounds with all taken to 2nd Surgical. At 1705hrs 4-3 Infantry XO reports at BS782434 reports ¼ ton vehicle with 4 US personnel was ambushed by approximately 4 VC with a least 1 automatic weapons. The vehicle received at least 20hits, negative casualties and vehicle towed in the LZ Bronco, completed damage of vehicle unknown at this time.
Alpha Company
June 5, 1968
Alpha Company conducted Search and Clear operation in their Area of Operation vicinity 0629hrs. At 1252hrs Alpha Company at AT988323 observed 1 VC moving southeast engaged with small arms fire at 150meters, results 1 VC KIA, with 1 pack with OD Uniform, blue hat, US CS grenade, rice, hammock, poncho liner and VC gas mask. At 1830hrs Alpha Company engaged 1 VC with the results of 1 VC KIA. Alpha Company moved to AT964322 to AT988325.
Bravo Company
June 5, 1968
Bravo Company will continue their Security Mission for LZ Ryder and will maintain 1 Platoon OP in vicinity AT960360.
Charlie Company
June 5, 1968
Charlie Company moved out to their east toward BT0529 and continued their Search and Destroy operation to BT001305 to BT025315.
Delta Company
June 5, 1968
Delta Company has the Security Mission for LZ Ross and Highway 535.
Echo Company
June 5, 1968
Echo Company is located at LZ Ross where Battalion Forward, is located and coordinates with the Battalion Rear Elements and the Base Defense on LZ Ross. The 4.2 Platoon is located on LZ Ross where they continue to provide direct fire support for the Battalion. 1-20 Infantry Recon Platoon manned OP Tiger, Cobra and Dragon.
