Battalion Forward: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and continued their working with the ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0556hrs 1-20 Infantry to all units, all Kit Carson Scouts will be paid before 1200hrs today. Have them standing by for pick up by Command and Control Helicopter or if possible send them by vehicle. At 0708hrs S-3 Air the Bud Pad told that they should send Command and Control Helicopter to Charlie Company and then come to LZ Liz. At 0800hrs 1-20 Infantry to Dragon the 42 and 94 elements will arrive at your location at 0845hrs and we request a vehicle for Mo Duc. We will arrive at Mo Duc at 0900hrs and request MAJ Barr, be on station. At 1310hrs Helix 37 FAC we are putting in an Air Strike at grid BS794457, at 1325hrs Helix 37 FAC Bomb Damage Assessment. Two Bunkers destroyed and 2 sustained fires. S-3 Air The number of resupply and the locations as well as the elements number is given from company forward to the company rear the information passes from forward to the Battalion which calls the company rear. At 1755hrs Helix 32 FAC we are putting in an Air Strike at BS795458. At 1837hrs AJAX Alpha Company 100, Bravo Company 113, Charlie Company 143, Delta Company 111, Recon 28, 4.2 Platoon 26. At 2000hrs 1-20 we notified Bravo and Delta Company Recon operations for tomorrow. At 2008hrs 1-20 will notified MACV Mo Duc of Delta Company 14 and 12 elements location.
Battalion Rear: Battalion Rear continued their Mission for providing general support for the Battalion. S-4 Battalion Rear 81mm Kit#KN-14-9 is suspended because it fires short.
Alpha Company

At 0615hrs Alpha Company 75 element closed on LZ Liz, the 14 element is moving to BS763422, 15 to BS769437, the 35 element to BS773440, and the 76 to BS764437. Alpha Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz.
Bravo Company
December 5, 1969
Bravo Company will conduct Multiple Patrolling in their Area of Operation for today. At 0708hrs Bravo Company 34 has closed at BS771461 and the Gorilla element has closed on BS783433 also at 0802hrs the 16 elements have closed on BS745445. At 0827hrs Bravo Company 33 element is moving to BS760443. At 1030hrs Bravo Company the 33 element has closed on BS776446. At 1116hrs Bravo Company the 16 element is at checkpoint 2 at BS802429. At 1220hrs Bravo Company the 16 element has closed on BS783433. At 1223hrs Bravo Company intelligence at BS790436 there is a Vietnam civilian with a weapon, with the Gorilla Team is moving out to check out the area. At 1320hrs Bravo Company the patrol for the 35 element is at BS778457. We will move out at 1000hrs and move back at 1850hrs. At 1408hrs Bravo Company the 216 PF platoon has picked up four detainees, three females and one male, these detainees were drawing sketches of male and the PF will turn these detainees over to MACV at 1625hrs. We have four more detainees they say are supposed to attack the 216 PF Platoon at BS776446 in the next 3 days. At 1420hrs Bravo Company Gorilla team has closed on BS783433 negative results. At 1832hrs Bravo Company the 15 element is located at BS780422 with all snakes are moving to these locations 34 at BS735448, 14 BS729466, and 74 at BS728448. At 1855hrs Bravo Company 14 snake is moving to BS787432. At 2004hrs Bravo Company the 2 element is moving to BS765442 and the 76 element is moving to BS793410. At 2025hrs Bravo Company the TOC called Bravo Company and told them to question detainees and set up operations in Van Truong 1.
Charlie Company

The M Boats in location this morning to Charlie Company to established security and at 0815hrs Charlie Company we request that Early Word warning to be given prior to naval gunfire at grid BS7848, BS7847, BS7948 and BS7947, all info given to Charlie Company. At 1013hrs Charlie Company 12 element with the APC received small arms fire at BS807458 and we returned fire with 81mm with negative results. Regarding the small arms fire received at 1013hrs we checked the area and found 1 middle age female with a green cape KIA. At 1017hrs we had 4 M-Boats in our location and starting to unload. At 1239hrs Charlie Company Late report regarding the small arms fire received at 1013hrs (BS807458). In the same area we spotted what was thought to be a male with pack evading the fire. We went to check out the area and found 1 middle age female with green cape KIA. At 1705hrs Charlie Company the stay behind element 12 is at grid BS808445. They have a lot of civilians at their location and are chasing them out. At 1912hrs Charlie Company the Tiger element is back at the Command Post at BS833437. At 1940hrs the Tiger element was moving to their snake location at BS805459 we heard a few women and men’s voices. 1 woman came toward the Tiger element location and we tried to capture her. She alerted the others and she alert others results 2 VC KIA dressed in completed green uniforms also 2 more women and 6 men dressed in green uniforms carrying weapons evaded. At 2020hrs Charlie Company 32 closed on BS820436 their Night Defense Position.
Delta Company

Delta Company reports location at 0715hrs 14 and 15 elements is at BS745447. Delta Company is working using ambushes and patrols in the area west and North of LZ Liz. Delta Company 1158hrs out Day Logger is at BS745445, the 12 element R/F at BS723464, our 72 element with MACV is moving to BS742466 to check out suspected rice cache. At 1530hrs the 72 element has closed on BS745445 and checked out our area of operations with negative results. The 12 element is located at BS742468, all night ambushes are moving to the following location at 1805hrs with the 34 element at BS735448, the 14 ambush at BS729466. At 1847hrs Delta Company the 34 element ambush is at BS735448 and the 14 ambush is at BS729466. Delta Company the 74 element ambush is located at BS728448.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. At 0553hrs 4.2 Platoon reports Defense Targets 1, Supporting Missions 22 Observed Missions 3 with total expend 68 HE 1 WP and Illumination 24 rounds. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon will continue their Security Mission for LZ Liz and the (1-20 Infantry TOC).
