Headquarters and Headquarter Company

Battalion Forward: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and continued their working with the ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 1345hrs New Command Push 1-20 Infantry Effective 1800hrs 5 Aug 65.95. The 1-20 Infantry S-3 AO requests extension for 1-4 ARVN Battalion from our present northern boundary to BS7248 south to BS7245 and back west to our present boundary, effective 7 August 0600hrs until the troops have withdrawn from AO extension.
Battalion Rear: Battalion Rear continued their Mission for providing general support for the Battalion.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz and the Access Road.
Bravo Company
August 5, 1969
At 0700hrs 1-20 Infantry conducts a Combat Assault from Bravo Company Location BS859374-Red, BS845375– Yellow, 1st PZ0640 and 2nd PZ-0652hrs – 0700hrs cold. At 1055hrs All Elements link up with blocking force with negative results. At 1510hrs Bravo Company was closing on LZ Bronco at this time.
Charlie Company

Charlie Company is located at Chu Lai for their Stand Down will return to duty tomorrow.
Delta Company
August 5, 1969
At 0512hrs Delta Company leaves Night Defense Position and established day logger position at BS764456. At BS764456 (Ireland) was Dust Off with a back injury to by check out was having problems with it. Delta Company reports that they are now in our Night Defense Position located at BS768453 with two night ambushes are in location.
Echo Company
August 5, 1969
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. At 0635hrs 4.2 Platoon reports Defensive Targets 14. Observed Missions 9 total expend 110 HE, 9 WP and 24 Illumination. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. At 0755hrs Recon has left Night Defense Position heading for their Day logger Position at BS731455. At 0940hrs Recon Platoon started their Clover Leaf Operation BS728460 to BS725552. At 1045hrs Recon Platoon request a Priority Dust Off for 1 US with frag wounds from friendly Artillery (short round) 1 piece of frag in stomach, name Dabney pit up site BS731455 Dust Off completed at 1100hrs. 1210hrs Recon Platoon entire element will have their snake at BS721440. At 1715hrs Recon Platoon captured 1 VCS age 12 or older spying on Recon going to be turned into Military Intelligence. At 2330hrs Recon has moved into their snake location.
