Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0855hrs Slow Motion 3 is on station at this time. At 0925hrs 1-20 Infantry reports Access road is open. At 1115hrs LZ Liz Commanding General and staff at LZ Liz to talk about present and future operations, and at 1115hrs Brigade Commander arrived at LZ Liz to discuss same and at 1145hrs both parties departed. At 2230hrs TMF Fire Mission, Sting 310 A has 5 to 7 moving west to east at 3 miles per hour with metal confirmed and engaged at 2220hrs with 8 HE rounds VT Artillery 155mm. Legend: 1st Platoon 39, 2nd Platoon 74, 3rd Platoon 31, 4th Platoon 57, CO-52.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company
April 5, 1971
Early this morning Alpha Company Command Post element had a Mechanical Ambush to detonated, results negative (BS629517). At 1650hrs Alpha Company the 3rd platoon moving to Night Defense Position at BS628523. At 1835hrs Alpha Company Command Post and 4th Platoon is moving into their Night Defense Position at BS632517 and the 2nd and 1st Platoon moving out to BS624514. At 2050hrs Alpha Company 3rd Platoon at BS628523 head movement 100 meters outside perimeter, engaged area with M-79 rounds. The first round M-79 hit a tree and fragments came back injuring 2 US, 1 has slight wounds to the foot and is routine Dust Off #L5904, and other had a wound to the head and in priority #F7252, Bird # 83 completed at 2130hrs.
Bravo Company

At 1115hrs Bravo Company while firing Artillery at BS636535, observed 2 secondary explosions. Bravo Company continued their setting up of patrol bases and multiple patrolling in their Area of Operation.
Charlie Company
April 5, 1971
Charlie Company has the Security Mission for LZ Liz. At 0645hrs Charlie Company 1st Platoon on patrol to BS720420 to BS738423 to BS721420 to BS728412 to BS737425. At 1435hrs Charlie Company 1st Platoon is at checkpoint 4 vicinity BS737425.
Delta Company

Delta Company is in the LZ Bronco Area of Operation and has a Security Mission.
Echo Company
April 5, 1971
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for 1-20 Infantry. At 0630hrs Recon is moving out to pre planned location at BS715421 and closed on location at 0725hrs. At 1150hrs Recon patrol closed on Patrol base at BS715421. At 1330hrs Hornet 667 (41) is on station for re supply. At 1921hrs Recon is in their location at BS715424.
