Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Thunder and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0200hrs Division TOC informed 11 Brigade that tomorrow SITREP will be 2 (separate) one for 11 Area of Operation and 1 for Task Force Galloway. At 0855hrs Military Police request permission to move National Police into grids BS7451 and BS7551 to conduct search of village, will return approximately 1600hrs approved by 1-20 Infantry TOC. At 1040hrs 1-20 Infantry to Bravo Company need to move to BS855346 for their Pick up (PZ) location to be extracted by CH 47 no later then 1230hrs, Troop E will have 4 APC to provide security. At 1410hrs 1-20 Infantry TOC Military Intelligence request permission to go to grid BS784428 and check some tunnels, will be out from 1500 to 1700hrs. At 1612hrs Charlie Company 1st Platoon at bridge 104 will be returned by vehicle to LZ Thunder, no other change. At 1740hrs Military Police jeep had a command detonated mine blow in front of their vehicle at BS783433 and received 50 to 75 rounds of small arms fire, negative casualties or damage. Also the National Police coming out of the field received 2 M-79 rounds and heavy automatic weapons fire, negative casualties and are calling in artillery.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco. At 0940hrs 6-11 Artillery reports a 2 ½ ton tuck hit a mine approximately 100 meters outside of LZ Bronco gate on access road. Negative US casualties, 2 Vietnamese wounded, were taken to 6 Support A&D. The entire left side of truck was damaged. At 0800hrs 1-20 Infantry TOC reports Charlie Company 19 Engineer at BS918195 found a bamboo type mine with electrical firing device and will take to LZ Lowboy. At 1055hrs the mine sweep team re sweep the gate area where the truck hit the mine, and found another mine, not far from the 1st mine. The gate is closed at this time. At 1248hrs Charlie Company 19th Engineer at BS914165 ¾ Ton truck moving north hit a pressure type mine approximately 20 pounds, mine didn’t completely detonate, negative casualties. Truck was disable and towed back to LZ Lowboy. At 1623hrs E Troop at BS917253 E Troop called a Dust Off for 1 US WHA, the truck he was driving was hit by a B-40 rocket, truck was from transportation detachment. The EM rifle was missing (M-14). E Troop will pull the truck back to Sa Huynh. At 1705hrs 1-20 Infantry TOC Charlie Company 39 engineer at BS724572 estimate 10 VC ambushed a 2 ½ ton ration truck belonging to Charlie Company 39 Engineer, had 1 US WHA from Charlie Company 39 Engineer. Also a ¾ Ton civilian scout truck from Quang Ngai providence was ambushed. A LTC Ferdinand O. Barger, was WHA and DOA at Duc Pho. The Brigade S-2 has his weapon. Ambush was by small arms fire and grenades, both vehicles were towed into LZ Snoopy by Charlie Company 39 Engineer.
Alpha Company

At 0810hrs Alpha Company is located at BS780393 and has moved at 1015hrs to BS768408. At 1808hrs Alpha Company has move to LZ Liz to take over Security Mission with ambushes at BS774442, BS767437 and BS745431.
Bravo Company
September 4, 1968
At 0830hrs Bravo Company at BS855348, in the morning Bravo sweep area to check out results found 4 additional VC KIA, 2 where male and 2 were female. The 8 KIA VC yesterday were all males. Last night when the Artillery was fired to halt escape 2 secondary explosions were noted. At 1015hrs Bravo Company no change. Bravo Company at 1808hrs moved into LZ Dragon and take over the Security Mission for LZ Dragon.
Charlie Company

Charlie Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Thunder and at 0830hrs 1st Platoon Charlie Company is leaving LZ Thunder. At 1015hrs Charlie Company reports their locations Command Post BS876275, LRRP Niagra no change and OHIO at BS846252. At 1612hrs the 1st Platoon Charlie is at bridge 104, will return by vehicle to LZ Thunder, with no change all other units. At 0808hrs Charlie company with ambush at BS863353, 14 elements on Bridge 111, LRRP Niagra at BS767318 and Ohio at BS846255.
Delta Company

Delta Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Charlie Brown and at 1015hrs Delta 10 is at BS913202, 2 at BS893199. At 1410hrs Delta Command Post had moved to BS910204. At 1808hrs LRRP Niagra is at BS774442, and Ohio is at BS846255, Delta will have ambushes at BS912199, BS905210, BS918195, BS921199 and the 21 element is on bridge 94. At 2057hrs at BS918195 Delta Company 30 moving to ambush sight spotted VC on road engaged with small arms fire, he was wearing black PJ results being one VC KIA negative weapon. Did have a sandbag for a pack with 2 poncho camouflage hat and assortment of papers plus ID will check name against black list.
Echo Company

Echo Company is located at LZ Thunder where Battalion Forward is and coordinates with the Battalion Rear Elements and Base Defense elements on LZ Thunder. The 4.2 Platoon is located on LZ Thunder where they continue to provide direct fire support for the (1-20 Infantry Battalion). At 1015hrs Recon Platoon reports their location at BS822268.
