Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Siberia and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0745hrs AMC is on station for Minuteman 14. At 0840hrs Charlie Company 1st PZ AT925275 to LZ Siberia and at 0825hrs 2nd PZ AT925275 to LZ Siberia and at 0830hrs 3rd PZ Charlie Company completed to LZ Siberia and lift ships and AMC broke for fuel. At 0835hrs Martini 22 Hook pick up water net and packs from LZ Siberia. At 0845hrs Martini 26 Hook LZ West picked up water tanks. At 0910hrs Combat Assault ships and AMC ships back on station. Bravo Company Bird used for Dust Off is back on station. At 0940hrs Bravo Company 5 PZ AT917271 to LZ west and 3rd PZ AT917271 clear to LZ West Martini 26 Hook mortars and 24 packs crew and equipment plus 3 large cargo nets. At 1015hrs Recon at PZ AT865424 has 21 packs pick up and taken to LZ Siberia. At 1025hrs resupply bird minuteman 13 and the lift ships have broke station. At 1030hrs AMC bird pick up Charlie Sweep team from LZ Siberia to Chu Lai and broke station. At 1048hrs Martini 11 Hook at West picked up 30 Alpha packs, at 1051hrs Martini 14 hook at LZ West picked up 30 packs to Chu Lai. At 1102hrs Martini 22 Hook at LZ West picked up Bravo 30 packs to Chu Lai. At 1102hrs Gunshot 14 Hook at LZ Siberia picked up HHC 30 pack and cargo1 net to Chu Lai. At 1109hrs Gunshot 10 hook pick up at Siberia Delta 30 packs to Chu Lai. At 1115hrs Martini 26 Hook at LZ West took 30 packs of Bravo Company PZ is clear. At 1135hrs 198 Brigade Commander at LZ Siberia to see 1-20 Infantry Commander and departed at 1209hrs. At 1306hrs Gun Shot 10 Hook to LZ Siberia to pick up 30 packs from Charlie to Chu Lai. At 1215hrs 1-20 Infantry reports all packs off for 1-20 Infantry. At 1235hrs PZ Siberia Gunshot 15 took 12 each HHC Alpha 5 and Delta to Chu Lai at 1320hrs. At 1250hrs LZ Siberia Gunshot 22 Hook 30 packs to Chu Lai, at 1320hrs Gunshot 13 hook took artillery and 105mm to Chu Lai 6 packs. At 1330hrs LZ Siberia clear all PZ in Dolphin 13 (resupply bird) took to Chu Lai arrived at 1400hrs 1-20 Infantry Battalion has closed out Military Operations in Vietnam.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for Chu Lai.
Alpha Company
October 4, 1971
Alpha Company continued their Security Mission for LZ west and preparations for move to Chu Lai. At 1005hrs LZ West is starting their Air movement to Chu Lai and at 1048hrs Alpha Company started their Air movement. 1-20 Infantry finishes at 1410hrs and closed out of Military Operations in Vietnam.
Bravo Company
October 4, 1971
At 0800hrs at 917271 Line # 7403 was shot in back when Bravo Company was having a free fire in their PZ. Dust Off was called for and 1 of the lift ships was used for Dust Off taken to 91 Evac Chu Lai, completed at 0805hrs. Bravo Company at 0940hrs PZ to LZ West completed at 1003hrs. At 1102hrs Bravo Company is lifted from LZ West to Chu Lai and last lift clean LZ West at 1135hrs. At 1410hrs the 1st Battalion 20th Infantry closed out military Operations in Vietnam.
Charlie Company

At 0810hrs Charlie Company 1st PZ AT925275 to LZ Siberia and last LZ at 0835hrs. See Headquarters and Headquarter Company October 4, 1971. At 1410hrs Air movement to Chu Lai is completed and the 1-20 Infantry Battalion reports they have completed their Combat Operations in Vietnam.
Delta Company

Delta Company is lifted off LZ Siberia at 1109hrs to LZ Chu Lai. See Headquarter and Headquarters Company October 4, 1971. At 1410hrs The 1st Battalion 20th Infantry Battalion has closed on LZ Chu Lai and closeout of their Military Operations in Vietnam.
Echo Company
October 4, 1971
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Siberia, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the coordination responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for 1-20 Infantry. (See Headquarters and Headquarter Company October 1971) At 1410hrs The 1st Battalion 20th Infantry Battalion has closed on LZ Chu Lai and closeout of their Military Operations in Vietnam.
