Headquarters and Headquarter Company

Battalion Forward: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and continued their working and support with the ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0715hrs 26 Engineer Mine Sweep team has started at this time and completed at 0944hrs. Military Intelligence located at Duc Pho at 1500hrs 100 VC Sapper unit was located at BS783345. At Utility is on station tail #445and broke station at 1404hrs. Their purpose is to attack on the following locations: PF outpost BS795379, Pho Di village at BS809374, Southern Bridge at BS789416. Charlie Company has been informed of the possibility of attack on the Bridge and will pass on the information to the 51 element.
Battalion Rear: Battalion Rear continued their Mission for providing general support for the Battalion. At 0045hrs Target Detection: String D-3 at 0030hrs at BS80053338 picked up 4-5 persons negative metal and engaged with 12 HE rounds 105 Artillery. At 2215hrs PP/SI-5 at 2130hrs at BS621391 picked up 4 persons and engaged with 3 rounds 81mm mortar rounds. At 2150hrs at BS617398 picked up 3 persons and engaged with 3 rounds of 81mm Mortar rounds. At 2250hrs PP/SI-5 at 2240hrs at BS621391 picked up 3 persons and engaged with 10 rounds 4.2 Mortar rounds.
Alpha Company

At 0705hrs Alpha Company 82 element snake has closed and Alpha Company continue their Security Mission for LZ Liz and Access Road.
Bravo Company
October 4, 1969
At grid BS781435 Bravo Company the 85 element checked out the area where they thought they get a KIA last night. They found no body or rice. Only prints of where someone night have been lying and some foot prints at 0651hrs. At 0920hrs Bravo Company at grid BS800417 our Ranger Squad engaged two VC/NVA with AK-47, they had on bush hats and ponchos and they were carrying the AK47 at sling arms; the VC/NVA evaded and got away with no casualties.
Charlie Company

At 0645hrs Charlie Company all snakes closed on our Night Defense Position, we are moving out of our location at this time in route to our Day Logger. At 0750hrs Charlie Company we are in our Day Logger until 1200hrs- 1300hrs. At 1305hrs Charlie Company has moved and across the river and are moving to Bronco and closed on LZ Bronco at 1330hrs.
Delta Company

Delta Company is still OPCON to the 4-21 Infantry Delta Company is working the area at BS824243 and by 1800hrs Delta Company is located at BS822260. At 2015hrs established their Night Defense Position at BS828248.
Echo Company
October 4, 1969
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. 4.2 Platoon no report today. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. At 1407hrs Recon Platoon is moving off LZ Liz and at 1650hrs the snake location for tonight position is BS718430. The Day Logger is located 250 meters east of this location. At 1830hrs Recon the new snake location is BS712435. At 2035hrs Recon Platoon reports we are in our preplanned location at this time, we will not fire Defense Targets but request that they are on call if we need them. At 1905hrs Recon we are in our snake location (preplanned).
