Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0032hrs TMF has sighting at BS727478 3 to 5 personnel that are moving east, Blue Ghost is moving out to check it, Blue Ghost checked the area with negative findings, but had to return because of high winds. At 0500hrs Blue Ghost had negative further sightings, requests to break station and broke station at 0504hrs. At 0750hrs 1-20 Infantry Resupply bird on station tail # 215 and broke station at 0850hrs with 60 minutes time. At 0800hrs 1-20 Infantry Primo 4 on station as Command and Control Helicopter, Primo 4 broke station at 0845hrs with 45 minutes blade time. At 0945hrs 1-20 Infantry AMC on station, Battalion Commander departed LZ Liz for Combat Assault of Alpha and Charlie Companies. At 1240hrs 1-20 Infantry reports Eagle Flight Combat Assault Charlie and Alpha Companies begins 1 PZ 1016hrs Charlie 03 LZ at BS675595, 2 PZ 1025hrs Charlie 83 LZ at BS668588, 2B PZ 1150hrs Charlie 53 LZ at BS670592, 3 PZ 1150hrs Alpha 03 LZ at BS657587, 4 PZ 1200hrs Alpha 83 LZ at BS661587, 5 PZ 1220hrs Alpha 65-03 LZ at BS662588, 6 PZ 1224hrs Alpha 53 LZ at BS662588 Eagle Flight is completed and the birds are released. At 1930hrs TMF Target 61 B stationary target, metal confirmed, negative clearance due to proximity of Recon Platoon. Legend 1st Platoon 03-08, 2nd Platoon 53-58, 3rd Platoon 83-88, 4th Platoon 63-68 and CO 02.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued the Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company
November 4, 1970
Charlie Company and Alpha Company conducted another Combat Assault, with Alpha Company 1st pick up at 1150hrs and Last LZ at 1224hrs. At 1600hrs Alpha Company 3rd Platoon at BS665591 found Booby Trap consisting of a hand frag in a hole covered with sticks, with a wire across the trail, and had been there approximately 2 weeks and was destroyed in Place. At 1937hrs the 3rd Platoon at BS665590 requested Urgent Dust Off for 1 US with irregular breathing and had blackout Request Doctor and Oxygen aboard, pack regained consciousness, cancelled and then reinstated request, completed at 2031hrs, diagnosed as hyperventilation, line # PFC Costan. At 1950hrs Alpha Company Command Post BS658592, 1st Platoon 646578, 3rd Platoon at BS665570, 2nd Platoon at BS658587, with 3rd Platoon ambush at BS662599 and 1st Platoon ambush at BS647580. Alpha Company reports (I believe) that PFC Milton L. Costan is evac to B 23 Medical for breathing problem.
Bravo Company
November 4, 1970
At 0210hrs Bravo Company 85 element received incoming Dud round within 50 meters of their location, all they heard was a loud thud as it impacted. Round believed to have come from the east moving to the west. Checked all Artillery and grids of H&I, give negative clearance within 1000 meter radius of grid square. At 0730hrs Bravo Company is moving to LZ Liz. At 0930hrs Bravo Company at BS736437 engaged 3-5 enemy with packs evading east, at BS736437 found 1 hammock, 1 rucksack containing 1 Ace bandage, 1 first aid kit, 1 set of Civilian clothes, 1 shaving kit and some documents, will bring back to Liz. Also rucksack made from a sandbag, in hedgerow. At 1125hrs Bravo Company closed on LZ Liz to take over the Security Mission. At 1852hrs Bravo Company reports Access Road Security is moving out at this time to BS760435 to BS776435.
Charlie Company
November 4, 1970
At 1005hrs Charlie Company 03 landed at 1016hrs vicinity 675595, 1028hrs Charlie Company 83 landed and 1049hrs Charlie Company 53 landed at 671592 all LZ where cold. At 1454hrs Charlie 02 had a personnel throw a hand frag at a suspected booby trap location, got a piece of frag in his arm, happened in the morning, extracted by resupply bird, Booby Trap at BS662587, line #224. At 1801hrs Charlie Company 03 found 1 60mm round at BS677601, appeared to be old and was stuck in the ground with fins up. Believed not to be a booby trap and blown in place. At the same time they found 1 81mm round in the ground with the fins point up. The Round was fairly new, blown in place with a secondary explosion, believed to be a booby tap. At 1825hrs Charlie Company 03 requested routine Dust Off for 1 US with 104 temperatures believe to have Malaria, name Iverson, Dust Off completed at 1855hrs. At 1920hrs Charlie Company 83, 63 and 02 is located at BS681595, Command Post is at BS681595, 53 at BS675590, and 54 at B681590. (I believe) it was the Medic for Charlie Company SP4 Michael Iverson with Headquarters and Headquarter Company evac with possible Malaria.
Delta Company

At 1025hrs Delta Company is departing LZ Liz at this time closed LZ Bronco for retraining at 1125hrs (Stand Down).
Echo Company
November 4, 1970
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the coordination responsibility for Base Defense. At 0642hrs Recon Platoon 03 element is moving to Patrol Base at BS714435. At 0930hrs Recon at BS729469 found 2 booby traps made from 155mm rounds with trip wire, across opening in a hedgerow made by a track. Requests EOD Team, Booby trap had been there for some time, but had been uncovered by the rain, Recon destroyed the rounds in place. At 1852hrs Recon 03 element is moving into location at this time BS714435. At 1945hrs Recon reports the 03 element in location at BS714435 and the 04 element in location at BS713432.
