Headquarters and Headquarter Company

Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located on LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in the Duc Pho Area of Operations. At 1145hrs 1-20 Infantry provide 1 rifle company in support of Duc Pho pacification at BS785428 start 5 May 69 Mission combat operation in general vicinity of target area. Alpha Company is still OPCON to the 4-21 Infantry and located at LZ Bronco. Division TOC: POWS, Hoi Chanhs documents and reliable sources indicate enemy activity, date 5, 9, 10 and 19 May units cautioned to be alert. MACV 0800hrs will have joint operation with 2 American platoons and PRU’s approve COL Chapman location BS770446 PRU’s will Combat Assault and conduct Search and Clear Operations.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco. At 0936hrs Alpha Company 19 Engineer Mine Sweep Security reports received 75 to 100 rounds of sniper fire from 2 different location on east side of road, approximately 5 VC involved location 150 meters north and south of Bridge 117. At 1911hrs LZ Bronco defense observed 5 VC moving north on Tripoli called arty on target with negative assessment.
Alpha Company

At 0830hrs Alpha Company conducted an air move from LZ Bronco back to Parent Unit completed at 1000hrs, and take over the Security Mission for LZ Liz.
Bravo Company
May 4, 1969
Bravo Company conducted saturation patrolling in the vicinity BS705464 and BS706476. Bravo Company reports their locations Night Defense Position at BS699454 with ambushes at BS701451 and BS702450.
Charlie Company
May 4, 1969
At 0030hrs Charlie Company conducted joint operations with PRU making a night sweep to BS6350 and closed around 0155hrs on BS654320. At 0320hrs Charlie Company reports the 84 and 91 elements moving to objective and 64 and 44 elements will remain in Night Defense Position. At 0622hrs Charlie Company at BS648500 and ready to assault their objective. Charlie Company will conduct Search and Clear for PW camp vicinity BS643498 and BS654494. Their Night Defense Position in vicinity BS651504.
Delta Company

Delta Company conducts a one platoon Recon in Force to vicinity BS757459 and conducts a combined operation with one platoon of PF to secure the Pacification and Construction of a Defense Network in a Hamlet vicinity of BS785428. At 0855hrs Delta Company at BS758460 found 1 ton of rice and will evac to LZ Liz. At 1410hrs at BS790468 Delta Company engaged 3 VC and results are 2 VC KIA and one VC detained. At 1145hrs 11th Brigade to 1-20 Infantry will provided 1 Rifle Company in support of Duc Pho pacification BS785428 starts 5 May 1969 coordinated direct with Duc Pho District, no later then 04 May 1969 by 1600hrs. Mission is combat operation in the general vicinity of the target area. At 1410hrs Delta Company at BS790408 engaged 2 VC results 1 VCS CIA and 2 VC KIA. Delta Company Command Post reports on LZ Liz with the 18 at BS752436.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued to conduct joint operations with the PRU to search out the VCI vicinity BS7345, BS757458 –BS745480. At 1810hrs Recon Platoon reports their location at BS735471.
