At 0900hrs 1-20 Infantry request 3 tracks from E Troop has approved want clearance from us, work vicinity LZ Dragon, 0700hrs to 1600hrs Jan 5, approved CPT Smith. At 1120hrs Charlie 26 engineer at BS760435 found home made mine 35 pounds pressure type destroyed 10 feet hole in diameter 4 feet deep. At 1820hrs 1-20 Infantry Sullen BS699416 spotted Company of dinks at BS698426, request Gun Ships approximately 50 with high packs. At 1902hrs SRRP Solon BS698426, 1 Company size VC in wood line 50-60, people called artillery and reported 3 VC KBA by Artillery.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company
January 4, 1969
Alpha Company conducts multiple patrolling in their Area of Operation, Alpha 31 at BS715404, and 41 at BS717403, with Alpha Company Night Defense Position at BS728427. Battalion SRRP’s location, are at BS704514 and BS732378.
Bravo Company
January 4, 1969
Bravo Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz. At 0800hrs Bravo Company at BS846406 engaged 1 VC evading results 1 VC KIA and at BS845505 detained 1 VC suspect for questioning, and at BS846410 found 1 Dud 155mm round destroyed in place and at 0836hrs vicinity BS846406 detained 1 VC suspect for questioning. Battalion SRRP’s location, are at BS704514 and BS732378.
Charlie Company

Charlie Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz with 31 and 41 at 1120hrs at BS744417 on sweep and clear operation. Battalion SRRP’s location, are at BS704514 and BS732378.
Delta Company
January 4, 1969
At 0855hrs Delta Company at BS775534 engaged 2 VC evading and result is 2 VC KIA. At 1740hrs Delta Company at BS714560 detained 2 VC suspects for questioning. At 1800hrs Delta Company vicinity BS805415 detained 3 VC suspects for questioning. At 1705hrs SRRP Sullen is at BS705421. PFC Aaron Williams, SP4 Robert A. Cable where attached to 27th Surgical Hospital.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued to conduct Security Mission on LZ Liz.
