Battalion Forward: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and continued their working with the ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0627hrs Command Message passed on to Companies (Always maintain all around Security).
Battalion Rear: Battalion Rear continued their Mission for providing general support for the Battalion. At 2050hrs LZ Bronco PP/SI-5 at 1958hrs at BS843386 picked up 5 persons and engaged with 9 rounds of 105 direct fire, 18 rounds of 81mm and 6 105 rounds.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz. At 1952hrs Alpha Company saw some movement in front of Bunker 16 and a claymore was blown, we are checking results now.
Bravo Company
August 4, 1969
At 0755hrs Bravo Company in Day Logger at BS813459with the 91 element is moving to BS795433 and the 21 element to grid BS780427. Bravo Company at BS816465 we just took some incoming mortars, believe them to be 60mm, we are cracking up artillery to fire some Defense Targets we have no idea where they came from but also we took a few sniper rounds. Our northern OP says they believe that M-79 not 60mm fired from about 50 meters north of their location out of a rundown Ville. We are calling artillery in the position at this time. At 2010hrs Bravo Company we are moving into our Night Defense Position at BS822459.
Charlie Company

Charlie Company is located at Chu Lai for their Stand Down.
Delta Company

Delta Company has move out to from their Night Defense Position at first light to check the areas they fired Artillery into last night and reports negative finding. The Company will continue their Search and Clear Operations in their Area of Operation. At 2000hrs Delta Company reports their Night Defense Positions at BS774447.
Echo Company
August 4, 1969
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. At 0650hrs 4.2 Platoon reports Schedule fires 15 Observed Missions 4, total expend 100 HE 11 Illumination. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. At 0640 Recon conducts a Combat Assault and LZ at 0651hrs (Cold) vicinity 708429. At 0840hrs Recon Platoon has 1 element at BS718447 and the 2 element at BS719448. At 1355hrs Recon Platoon report their snake, location for tonight at BS722445. At 1625hrs Recon Platoon reports CS gas was dropped on grid BS715456 by Command and Control Helicopter with Recon element coordinated on the ground. At 1940hrs Recon requested to move to new snake location at BS719448, our former snake location was compromised because of the artillery, directed on the movement we spotted to our south, we are moving out and at 1958hrs setting up our snake location.
