Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0010hrs Saber Black is on station to check radar sighting of 1220hrs vicinity BS796463, checked area and had mini gun malfunction, broke station at 0030hrs with negative findings. At 0130hrs Saber Black is on station to check out radar sighting of vicinity BS793451, and negative results will check out Box 41. At 0310hrs Saber Black broke station with negative findings. At 0915hrs Slow Motion 4 is on station and broke station at 1015hrs. At 1320hrs Rattler (16) 762 is on station for re supply. At 1725hrs Rattler 16 is breaking station. At 1950hrs 1-4 ARVN Regiment at BS615553 at 1330hrs while on a sweep made contact with unknown size enemy force resulting in 8 NVA KIA, 1 AK47 CIA, many feet of commo wire CIA and 8 bandoleers of ammo with magazines full. At 1952hrs 1-4 ARVN Regiment at BS608508 at 0645hrs requested Urgent Dust Off of 1 Vietnamese who received multiple frag wounds from B 40 rocket, Dust Off was completed at 1930hrs. At 2100hrs Saber 40 is on station to check out radar sighting vicinity BS787461, has 3 KIA, destroyed 15 sampans and 2 bunkers. Saber 40 took fire from the area he engaged, broke station at 2200hrs at 300’ at 40 knots took 25 AK47 rounds. At 1946hrs MACV Mo Duc requests priority Dust Off for 1 Vietnamese civilian with gunshot wounds to the buttocks, requested through Vietnamese Air Force, call sign AC62 completed at 2045hrs vicinity BS764473. At 2250hrs Saber 40 at BS713562 checked out IOS sighting from OP Wink (12 to 20 personnel with packs and weapons moving northeast). At 2330hrs Saber 40 received heavy volume of AK 47 fire from estimated 10 to 15 fighting location and bunkers containing 35 to 40 VC. Gun ships requested and are on station at 2357hrs Warlords engaged target area with Artillery 155mm from LZ Dragon, dusters from Dragon, 4.2 Mortar and Quad 50 from OP Wink. Saber 40 had to break station due to burn out mini and blown (.50 caliber) at 0015hrs. Fire Mission is check fired at 0030hrs and Warlords check out the area broke station at 0101hrs heading back to Chu Lai to rearm. Nighthawk 40 Warlord 21 and 41 expended, 4.2 fired 19 rounds, Quad 50 fired 1200 rounds and Dusters 20 rounds and 105mm ARVN 50 rounds into the location. Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company is located at LZ Bronco for Rest and Re training. Company remained in their Positions and acted as OP positions.
Bravo Company

At 1820hrs Bravo Company 2nd Platoon, moving out to Night Defense Position at BS642500. At 1900hrs the 2nd Platoon at BS637544 saw 1 NVA 100 meter to their west, engaged with small arms fire, person evaded to the east and ran into a Mechanical Ambush resulting in 1 KIA was 20, wearing green uniform, CIA 1 AK47 with 2 full magazines of ammo. At 2000hrs Bravo Company reports their Night locations Command Post and 4th Platoon at BS643541, 2nd Platoon BS638552, 1st and 3rd Platoon at BS640538.

Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for 1-20 Infantry. At 0740hrs Recon is moving to BS693514 and BS693425. At 0810hrs Recon is moving to their pre plan location vicinity BS693414. At 1845hrs Recon Platoon is moving out to Night Defense Position vicinity BS716434. At 1855hrs Recon in location at BS713434, then move to pre planned location at BS716434.
