Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Dottie and will continued to work with ARVN units their Area of Operations. At 0744hrs Charlie Company 39 Engineer request sharks to engage 4 snipers at BS727600 and contact Stiff Kettle. At 0825hrs E Troop and Recon Platoon are departing LZ Dottie. At 1045hrs the Gun Ships from 174 aviation in support of Charlie Company 39 Engineer at BS727600 reported 6 structures destroyed, 5 VC KIA and 1 WIA. At 1140hrs 1-20 Infantry TOC Colonel Quinn at BS543847 observed 2 VC possible NVA with green uniforms and APC are moving to area, and checked with negative results. At 1215hrs E Troop APC report location at BS565846. At 1224hrs 1-20 Infantry reports APC at BS555845 1 track hit a booby trap, estimate 175mm round, permanent damage are going to drag back to LZ Dottie, negative casualties. At 1400hrs E Troop 1 Calvary at BS582832 engaged 1 VC evading, results 1 VC KIA, male, no ID and no weapon. At 1600hrs APC reports location at BS607836. At 2045hrs 1-20 Infantry TOC the Area of Operation for LRRP Jack Daniels’ BS6886-BS6888-BS7088-BS7086.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company

At 0825hrs Alpha Company is at Center of Mass BS569854 using saturation patrolling. At 1240hrs Alpha Company (-) reports their location at BS568856. At 1410hrs Alpha Company reports their location at BS567863. At 1600hrs Alpha Company reports their Night Defense Position at BS568862.
Bravo Company

Bravo Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Dottie. At 2215hrs Bravo Company at BS630855 Bunker 9 heard noises to the front fired 2 rounds illumination from 81mm again heard movement will Recon by fire with M-79 and check the area at first light.
Charlie Company

At 0845hrs Charlie Company reported their location at Quang Ngai Airstrip and continued their reaction force mission.
Delta Company

At 0825hrs Delta Company at LZ Buff and at 1845hrs Delta Company observed 4 VC and called 81mm at BS544848 and also saw 2 large bonfires at BS552852 and BS556833 observed 6-7 lights called in artillery on them. At 1845hrs Delta Company at BS544848 observed 4 VC and called in 81mm Mortars also saw large bonfires at BS552852 and BS515817. At 1917hrs Delta Company at BS556833 observed 6-7 light and called in artillery on them.
Echo Company

Echo Company is located at LZ Dottie where Battalion Forward is and coordinates with the Battalion Rear Elements and Base Defense elements on LZ Dottie. The 4.2 Platoon is located on LZ Dottie where they continue to provide direct fire support for the (1-20 Infantry Battalion). At 0825hrs E Troop and Recon Platoon are departing LZ Dottie. Recon Platoon at 0930hrs is at BS642873 and hit anti personnel mine results in 1 US KHA and 1 WHA Dust Off completed at 0931hrs. At 1010hrs Recon Platoon reports their location at BS647871. At 1155hrs Recon Platoon at BS646870 found 20’ tunnel with a 105mm round outside entrance. At 1215hrs Recon Platoon reports their location at BS646870. At 1400hrs Recon Platoon reports they have closed on LZ Dottie. Echo Company reports PFC Forrest E. Simmons was evac to 2nd Surgical Hospital at 0945hrs with frag wounds and SP4 CLAUDE TILLMAN ROPER RECON PLATOON IS LISTED AS KHA.
